For the past year and a half, RICARES staff have been dedicated to working on legislation that will protect recovery residences from discriminatory zoning, fire codes, or building codes. This legislation ensures that NARR certified recovery residences maintain the same rights that are afforded to residential uses of property.

This legislation will allow NARR certified recovery residences to remain operable and accessible while maintaining a familial environment that supports residents' recovery journey.

Last night the Senate version of the bill passed with 37 votes in support!

Tonight, bill H8040 will be heard in the House Chamber for passage.

Getting to this point would not be possible without the support and advocacy from recovery house operators, recovery house residents, our community partners and all of those who have provided testimony. We are enormously grateful for your collaboration, time, and effort dedicated to this issue.

Big things are happening at Access & Care Recovery! 🙌🏾

Over the next couple of months, we will be expanding and adding more beds to continue supporting individuals in recovery. Once completed, we will have a total of 8 open beds available for both males and females.

We’ve been working endlessly behind the scenes to make this happen, and we are excited for what’s ahead. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission and believe in the work we’re doing for the community.
