As we prepare to present selections from The Bagale Collection, we wanted to share a glimpse into the man behind the collection. This video highlights Dr. Bagale’s lifelong dedication to preserving history, educating others, and serving the Pueblo community.

His collection represents decades of research, travel, and collecting, with thousands of artifacts documenting military history from around the world. But at its heart, this story is about a Pueblo physician whose passion for history became a lifetime legacy.

This past week, our shop was a hub of history as we work through an extensive German military collection (1850–1950) from a local estate. While our team has already poured immense effort into this project, the scale and significance of these items deserve a specialized eye.

We were honored to have Dr. Chris Juergens, military historian and curator at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, join us in a private consulting role. His expertise ensures that every detail is accurately documented and that we are approaching the history with the precision it requires.

Beyond the cataloging, we were also privileged to host a preview on Thursday evening. It was a pleasure to welcome Shawnna Cowles from the Steelworks Center of the West, along with Dr. John Wendt and his team from the Pueblo Heritage Museum and Pueblo County Historical Society. We take great pride in stewarding historically significant material like this and look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.
