Let’s give another warm welcome to one of our newest AEE Board Members: Jay!👋
“AEE has been my professional home for years. I met many of my closest friends who I still go on yearly ventures with at an AEE event. So I decided after a great deal of thought that if I was ever going to serve on the International board, that time is now. I am excited about the future, and it is clear to me that it will take a village of kindred folks to take AEE to a higher plane of making a positive difference in the world.”
✨Jay is a master of using natural settings and adventure-based experiences to teach leadership, teamwork, and self-esteem. He works quickly to establish trust among all group members and has them involved, interested and motivated. Jay offers a unique perspective from his 40+ years in the field about the value of self-knowledge, the collaborative nature of leadership, and a leader's role as a servant. His experiences range from working in Higher Education, a Senior Instructor for the Wilderness Education Association, United States Forest Service, At-risk (At Promise) youth, Aging to Saging Certify Instructor to serving as the Board President of the Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo. In addition, his involvement has been creating programs at 3 Higher Education institutions and twoAt Risk ( I prefer the term "At Promise") High schools and helping design the 10th Mountain Hut System in Colorado. Along with his wife, Cleo, he is the CO-Owner of Story Tellers Travels and Imagine If a Mind, Body and Spirit Connections Company. He recently along with Dr. Bob Stremba and Andrea Parrish has founded the Experience Collaborative.
When Jay isn’t working or volunteering, we can probably find him..🌲 “playing in the Out of doors with friends and Cleo, being a super Grandfather and volunteering in the Pueblo Community.”
