♻️ A recycling symbol doesn't automatically mean your local program accepts something.
Packaging has become complicated: films, foams, padded envelopes, mixed materials and plastics that all look vaguely recyclable.
Before "wishcycling," check what your actual recycling program accepts.
Recycling right matters more than recycling hopefully.

🍲 Tonight's dinner challenge:
Open the refrigerator BEFORE opening a food delivery app.
Leftovers, forgotten vegetables and food already sitting in your freezer can become dinner instead of next week's trash.
Reducing food waste doesn't require perfection. Sometimes it just requires remembering what's already there.

🗑️ What fills YOUR trash can first?
Food packaging?
Takeout containers?
Shipping boxes?
Paper products?
You don't need to dig through your garbage to do a household waste audit. Just pay attention for a week.
Once you know what you're throwing away most often, you can decide whether there's one small habit worth changing.
No zero-waste perfection required.

📦 Ah, the "I'll deal with that later" pile.

Two things become a box. The box becomes three bags. And somehow you've created an entire corner of the garage dedicated to things nobody wants.

September is a great time to deal with it before winter arrives.

💨 Pueblo wind + one loose trash bag = that trash bag going on an adventure nobody asked for.

Secure lightweight trash. Close those lids. Pick up loose litter before the wind does it for you.

Our neighborhoods will thank you.

🏈 The best tailgate rule might be the simplest:

Take the memories. Take the leftovers. Take your trash.

A great game day shouldn't leave a parking lot full of cups, cans, wrappers and food behind.

Have fun. Cheer loudly. Clean up when you're done.

🚛 Stop. Move. Collect. Repeat.

A trash truck may do that hundreds of times while traveling a route, often with traffic moving around it.

If you find yourself behind one, give the driver a little patience and the crew plenty of space.

We want everyone to make it home safely at the end of the day.

🌧️ That cup in the street may not stay there.

Wind and rain can carry loose trash into gutters, drainage areas and farther through the community.

Keeping lids closed and picking up loose litter around your property are small things that can have an impact well beyond your own yard.

🚛 There is a person behind your trash service.

Our trucks make stop after stop throughout the day, and our crews work alongside neighborhood traffic while doing it.

When you encounter a trash truck, slow down, stay alert and give the crew room to work.

Getting somewhere a few seconds faster isn't worth someone's safety.
