Gregory Howell LLC The Future of Our Past...Where do you want to go? Who am I? What do I have to say? Where am I going?

Whether you are an individual creative trying to establish yourself as a brand or a small enterprise looking to increase market share and revenues, you must be able to answer the following three questions in an authentic and genuine manner. For the first time since the industrial revolution in the late 1880s our world is undergoing a dramatic shift as we come to understand the dynamics of the crea

tive economy around us. The Internet has changed the way we access, analyze and interpret information. Critical thinking is even more important today when identifying the 'truth'. Successful individuals and enterprises of tomorrow will embrace the past and create a new dynamic where the process of engagement, education and empowerment turns ideas into action. Storyteller, curator and creative economy consultant, Gregory made his way to Pueblo via Tokyo to join a team of innovative physicians in the launch of a network of medical clinics in Colorado and Texas. While living in Pueblo, Gregory immediately realized the powerful and yet untold story of the new creative economy in one of America's great industrial landscapes which was once dominated by the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company. Gregory is the owner of Kadoya Gallery on Central Plaza in Downtown Pueblo and since his arrival in Southern Colorado has launched The Shoe Factory, the ARTery and the Underground in the Historic Federal Building. As a branding and marketing specialist in the arts, Gregory is about to launch his new methodology called the Tray of Life to help creatives amplify the narrative of their story. In 2018 Gregory will be releasing his first major storytelling effort Jackie & the Taj which shares the powerful and compelling story of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's historic trip to India in 1962.

One of the joys of working with creatives from all over the world here in the Grove neighborhood is seeing the finished product. It was an honor to work with Exodus Road and their work to stop human trafficking. This was filmed at Watertower Place. GH

The art of Nina Cravens-Fry is whimsical, playful and emphasizes color and design. Her passion for art was clearly evident at the age of 4 when she secretly created a mural on the wall behind the sofa using crayons. This type of artistic expression was not secret for long as her parents soon discovered her drawings and she was scolded for her creative boldness. After teaching in public schools for over a quarter century, she focused on her own artistic journey which enabled her to share her work and stories with audiences around the world. Nina focused primarily in painting, handmade paper, and drawing at her studio 29 Elms in Pueblo, Colorado. She was a passionate signature member of several watercolor societies and held membership in the National Watercolor Honor Society. She regularly showed her work in Southern Colorado at The Turf Exchange Visual Arts Center, Kadoya Gallery and Steel City Art Works in Pueblo and Boulder Street Gallery in Colorado Springs.

Familiar Convergence by Kadoya Gallery
Kevin Malella & Bob Benvenuto

The artists are committed to visualizing the odd, yet entirely familiar, relationships and juxtapositions of converging elements; noting conversations that occur when people, places, the natural, and artificial meet in time. Benvenuto's constructed images are surreal depictions of our world of appearances, seen through a veil of perceptive conjecture and contrivance. By placing environments, objects, and people in an orchestrated context, Benvenuto evokes a personal and reflective narrative. Malella's photographs examine the harmony or dissonance of Our relationship to the land. He is interested in the marks we make, physically and psychologically, onto our planet and how those alterations shift geological, ecological, and sociological patterns during our tenure. He finds solace in nature's ability to adapt and reclaim its boundaries, but warns of the time it may take to do so.

Over the past several years I have followed the career of industrial abstract artist Randy Wix in Pueblo, CO which is one of America's great industrial landscapes with the towers of the Colorado Fuel & Iron (CF&I) blast furnaces as a reminder of the largest consolidated steel mill west of the Mississippi. CF&I built the West and like the pioneers and captains of industry of the day, Randy navigates his storytelling with a mix of design, innovation, engineering, construction, and curation. Unlike your traditional studio artist, Randy takes on the role of contractor when he brings his found objects to life in his powerful industrial masterworks. 'The Art of Randy Wix' is the first in a series of new books aimed at capturing the essence of the emotional magnitude of the industrial revolution and its powerful remnants that dot our landscape today. The book highlights composition, texture, and his own language known as 'Wixing' which evokes the written score of a previous civilization --- appearing very familiar, yet unknown and distant. New objects that speak the language of the 'future of the past' are found by Randy almost daily and they become part of his family until the appropriate context unfolds for a new life as a beacon of our industrial past. This magical process is how the artist shares his passion for the world around us and each work evolves independently and driven by emotion. The creative steps are never the same and the chapters of each new work evolve as the artist assembles the story. Whether you are a student of our great industrial past, or passionate about great abstract art and engaging storytelling, 'The Art of Randy Wix' is a great addition to one's understanding of art, history and culture in America.
