Another fantastic TLSCC autocross in the books yesterday! Huge thanks to everyone who came out, helped setup/work course, and made it a great day despite the VERY technical layout and brutal slalom section at the end of the course that kept drivers busy all day long.

The course started with a fast concrete launch section leading into some quick sweepers and technical transitions before dropping into the downhill “bowl” section. But the final off-camber slalom and transition section definitely separated the smooth and precise drivers from the rest of the field.

Congratulations to our top raw time drivers:

🏆 Karl Dunn took Fastest Time of Day in his lightweight 525whp Corvette FRC with an impressive 60.041 raw time. The car absolutely flew down the straights and looked planted all day long.

🥈 Brett Chapman was right behind in his heavily modified 2017 Audi RS3 with a 60.069. That car was MOVING and sounded and looked fantastic on course with its suspension and power upgrades.

🥉 Kyle Hulen rounded out the podium with a strong 61.485 in his 2016 Focus RS. The Focus looked incredibly nimble through the tight technical sections and Kyle drove it hard all day.

Other standout performances:
🔥 Chris Hollobaugh’s LS3-swapped BRZ was easily one of the coolest cars of the day and put down a very respectable 61.746 while sounding absolutely incredible.
🔥 The battle between Justis Kivari’s BMW M3 and Dan Lombardi’s 2025 Audi RS3 stayed tight all day, with both drivers admitting the difficult final slalom likely cost them some time despite strong pace elsewhere on course.

One thing became very clear yesterday — smoothness and precision mattered more than outright horsepower in the final technical sections. Several drivers found themselves faster in earlier runs before over-driving the increasingly grippy surface later in the day.

What a day in Pulaski! The weather was fantastic, the competition was absolutely clinical, and tires were blazing going around that 360! We saw some of the tightest margins in club history today—literally decided by the blink of an eye.

🏆 Event Stand-Outs

The "Razor’s Edge" Award: Kyle Hulen & Justis Kivari
The battle for the top spot was legendary. After six runs, Kyle took the win by a staggering 0.013 seconds. That is the definition of finding every possible inch on the course.

Most Improved: Mitchell Goodwin
Mitchell put on a masterclass in learning the line. He started the day with a 58.465 and chipped away at it every single run, ending with a 53.674. That is a massive 4.791-second improvement from start to finish!

Consistency King: Robert Clark
While some of us were hunting for grip, Robert found a rhythm and stayed in it. Excluding a DNF on his first lap, every single subsequent run was faster than the one before it, showing a perfectly linear progression: 55.1 > 54.7 > 53.5 > 52.7 > 52.6.

💸 The "Dollar Run" Showdown

When the official competition ended, the "grudge matches" began. With the pressure of the season points off, several drivers stayed late to chase that one perfect lap. The leaderboard saw a total upheaval, and the fastest time of the entire day was recorded during these final runs. NOTE: These were manually entered so our apologies if a name/car is off. That GR86 though.... 🙂

📈 Huge thanks to everyone who helped with timing, tech, and sh****ng cones. It was great to see such a diverse grid—from the classic Zs and E30s to the modern GT4RS and Skyline.

We will also be taking more precautions to try to clean up any leftover debris to prevent punctured tires... it's quite a task but we share your concerns as we are drivers too, and want to make it as safe as possible for everyone.

Next stop: May! Start prepping those cars now!

So… funny story — we definitely meant to send this sooner 😅

Our April Autocross is happening next weekend, and your car has been sitting there thinking,

We will have an alternative rain date in the event of rain. Bring a tent (if you have one with weights) chairs, snacks, sunscreen and sticky tires as we roll into the 2026 season.

Event requirements
Before you click that glorious "Register" button…a few things to know:

🕙 First Car off time is 10:00 AM sharp — not "racecar time." If you REALLY want to help (we know you do!) please plan to arrive early (8:30) to help us set up (cones don’t place themselves), register and walk the course...and stick around afterward to help pack up. Many hands make light work...and faster teardown.

🪖 Bring a helmet if you’ve got one! If not, we’ve got a few loaners - but they’re limited and possibly smell like someone else’s fast laps.

🛞 Your car must pass tech inspection. That means it needs to be safe, sound, and free of flying projectiles. Please clean out all loose items - no one wants to dodge an airborne phone charger at turn three.

🪪 Drivers and passengers must have a valid driver’s license. Yes, even your buddy who “totally would’ve gone pro if not for that one time…”

Car classification is a must, here is a tool to help you find your car class if you don't know it by heart: https://www.scca-classifier.com/

Also ChatGPT is great at this as well, prompt "what SCCA class is my car", give car info and mod list and it'll spit out your class - (we will be glad to help as well)

Huge thank you to all that attended our first Auto-X event for '26!! The sun was shining, the engines were singing, and the course was short but certainly a fun one!

Attached you will find four spreadsheets filled with data from our event. Raw times, PAX times, Class breakdowns, and Consistency data.

For those that want a brief summary:

Top Raw Time: Tim Brewer in his Dodge Neon ACR managed to put down a solid 36.991 lap time!

Top PAX Time: Kyle Hulen in his Ford Focus RS, with a 30.793!

Consistency Award goes to Dan Lombardi in his Datsun 280z, with all six clean runs being within half a second of each other!

Most improved award goes to Jake Pfeiffer in his Mazda Miata, dropping over 10 seconds from his first run to his best!

Hello fellow racers and spectators!

We have had a few inquiries on the Racing Schedule for 2026.

Currently we plan to start up again in March on the 2nd Saturday, weather dependent, with the 3rd or 4th Saturday as alternates.

So here are the dates, assuming weather is not a factor. If it is, then as mentioned we intend on bumping race day out to the next Saturday, etc.

These dates are subject to change, again depending on weather conditions or for other reasons…. We hope everyone is getting their cars prepped because the first event is less than 60 days away!
