We’re proud to share the completion of another major slope stabilization project here in the North Carolina mountains.
This project involved extensive landslide remediation, surface water management, grading, compaction, erosion control, and long-term slope stabilization measures designed to protect the property for years to come.
Over the course of the project, our team:
• Cleared and removed all slide debris, fallen timber, brush, and unstable vegetation
• Regraded and reshaped the failed slope to create a more uniform and stable profile
• Installed multiple surface-water diversion features to intercept runoff before it could reach the slope
• Extended and redirected gutter discharge systems away from the affected area to reduce hydrostatic pressure and future erosion
• Laser-graded and compacted the slope to improve long-term stability
• Installed over 41,000 square feet of Aspen wood fiber erosion control matting
• Installed erosion-control wattles to slow runoff, reduce velocity, and prevent rill formation during storm events
• Applied a mountain stabilization seed mix specifically selected for deep root establishment and long-term soil reinforcement
One of the most rewarding parts of this project is that we are already seeing root establishment and vegetation growth within the first seven days following installation. That early germination is exactly what we want to see as the slope transitions from mechanical stabilization to biological stabilization through root reinforcement.
Mountain landslide repair is much more than simply moving dirt. Successful stabilization requires proper drainage, water management, grading, compaction, erosion control, vegetation establishment, and attention to every detail that affects long-term performance.
The final result is a safer, cleaner, more attractive property with significantly improved surface-water control and slope integrity.
A huge thank you to the homeowners for trusting Carolina Dozer with this project. We’re extremely proud of how this one turned out and look forward to watching the vegetation continue to establish over the coming months.
If you’re dealing with erosion, slope failure, drainage issues, washed-out banks, or landslide damage, give us a call. Proper water management and stabilization today can prevent much larger problems tomorrow.
