This is the kind of project that reminds us why we do what we do.
As Joy shared in her note, several contractors had looked at this restoration project and decided not to take it on. We’re grateful that Carolina Dozer had the opportunity to step in, work alongside Samaritan’s Purse, and help bring a difficult situation to a successful finish.
This was an enormous and highly technical project with limited access and a lot depending on getting it right ….the stability and protection of the home itself. Working closely with the engineer and geotechnical engineer, we installed a complete stabilization and erosion-control system using well over 100 tons of stone, gabion baskets, extensive rock hammering, engineered wood-fiber mats, sediment controls, drainage improvements, and careful site grading.
It took a tremendous amount of planning, problem-solving, equipment, and teamwork, but we’re incredibly proud of the finished result. More than anything, we’re thankful for Joye and Roger’s trust, patience, and kind words. A successful project means a lot, but hearing what the work meant to the people we were helping means even more.
