Mobilization day for a new Appalachian State University project. Carolina Dozer is rolling in with the Takeuchi TB260, TB240, Bobcat T76, Bobcat E42, and dump truck fleet as we kick off another major repair and stabilization project in the North Carolina mountains.

This project will involve excavation, grading, drainage improvements, compaction, erosion control, and long-term mitigation work to help protect the roadway and surrounding slopes from future failures. Time to get to work.

Kyle from Carolina Dozer was the fastest to respond and actually came out the same day. He walked the property with me, gave honest advice on what could (and should) be done, and delivered a quote that day that was miles better than the others I received.
The crew was extremely professional and hardworking. They showed up ready to go, stayed tidy, and were polite the whole time. The finished work looks fantastic and was very fairly priced. Customer called us out for erosion issues, and it was starting to impact neighboring property.

Carolina Dozer came in and corrected the site from the ground up:
• Cleared downed trees, limbs, and debris
• Reworked and compacted loose fill dirt
• Installed a properly graded surface water swale using laser transit for accurate drainage flow
• Corrected a non-draining section behind the home to ensure positive runoff
• Buried gutter downspout lines to carry roof water away from the foundation
• Installed aspen fiber erosion control mats with deep root growth seed for long-term stabilization
• Added wattles and silt fence to control runoff and protect the neighboring property

This is what proper drainage and erosion control looks like when it’s done right—engineered flow, solid compaction, and long-term stabilization.

“In July 2025, Kyle Michaud met with Russ Suddeth. Kyle Michaud and the Carolina Dozer company impressed him with their willingness to take on this HUGE project with an “out of the box” problem solving initiative.

Kyle and employees of Carolina Dozer actively participated to implement the designed work and were excellent team players throughout this whole process of restoration.

Not once did we experience a negative attitude, or a feeling that a solution couldn’t be found when complications surfaced during the work.

We were amazed and so grateful for their consistent willingness to keep moving forward with our project with faithful committed time, and high quality work even during the cold, windy winter months.

Kyle was always willing to answer questions, come to the worksite if needed, and kept us consistently “in the loop” about next steps and the timeline.
