A whole lot of skillbuilding and new friendships happened between a tentative day 1 of assessing a pile of white pine timbers to a confident day 7 of a community timber frame raising. Co-instructor Ariel and I were thrilled to have 14 super dedicated participants who brought their laughter, sweat and occasional tears to their very focused learning process in our Women and Gender Non Corforming Timber Framing Workshop. I hope you all are all resting in the afterglow of such an amazing week! 🔥🔥 Thanks to for hosting us to build their new farmer's market pizza pavilion and for an elegant design, building the trusses, and collaborating in such a successful raising! We love working with you.

I'm excited to be worrking on a h**pcrete house project that will be showcasing some gorgeous lime plaster from .chanvre . The last couple of weeks we have been in the process of making the h**pcrete walls plumb and straight and built out to the correct thickness.. And finishing interior lath wall basecoats. This process starts with a lime and h**p plaster over the dry h**pcrete infill or lath, followed by lime and sand plaster over the dry h**p plaster. A few more weeks of this level of prep and we'll start the lime veneer finish coats on all 16,000sf of ceilings and walls. The laser level is my new friend. I'm really excited to be working with a new system and such a resourceful and talented colleague. **pcrete **pcretehouse

I'm just finishing up several weeks of teaching in Vermont and Massachusetts and the last two courses of Timber Framing for Women were a real treat. It's always wonderful passing on this craft. I love the process of the skill and confidence building using hand tools. And then getting to see it all come together! 🔥❤

In our workshop offerings this season we have two workshops available for women and non-binary students. The July Women's Timber Framing Course in Vermont is already full with a waiting list but we still have room for you in our Natural Building for Women 女子自然建築ws in Japan this May. It will be an amazing setting to learn some introductory building skills and a super fun community experience.
