Veteran Towing is excited to announce that we have hit another growth milestone and we are opening ANOTHER TOW TRUCK driver position.
Job Title: Part‑Time Tow Truck Operator — Local (3pm–10pm) — Commission Pay
Location: Thurston County → Snohomish County (local runs)
Schedule: Part‑time, evenings 3:00 PM–10:00 PM, home every night; occasional weekends as needed
Compensation: Commission‑based pay (competitive commission structure; details discussed during interview)
Overview:
Seeking a reliable, self‑motivated tow truck operator to transport vehicles and provide local towing services in the Pierce and King county area with local routes between Thurston County and Snohomish County. Typical drops are auto auctions (Kent/Auburn). Evening shift, part‑time — drivers return home nightly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a wheel lift tow truck transporting vehicles from pickup to drop‑off (often auctions in Kent/Auburn).
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and maintain accurate load/log paperwork.
- Secure vehicles for damage‑free transport and report issues immediately.
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding ETAs and delays.
- Keep Tow truck clean and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all federal, state, and company safety/compliance rules.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Driver license.
- Minimum age 24 (Insurance requirement)
- Clean driving record (MVR review)
- Pass background check.
- Pass DOT drug/alcohol screening and periodic testing.
- Organized, dependable self‑starter with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Critical thinker (Must be able to think outside the box and learn/ know the areas we serve including traffic patterns
Preferred:
- Experience with auto auction deliveries (Kent/Auburn) or vehicle transport. (But not necessary as we will train the right person)
- Familiarity with Thurston, Snohomish, and I‑5 corridor routes.
