BUCKS COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR SHOOTING AT DOORDASH DRIVER OVER CHEESESTEAK DELIVERY

A Bucks County man who fired a gun at a teenage DoorDash driver after becoming angry over a cheesesteak delivery has been sentenced to four to 10 years in state prison.

Keilan McKeever, 33, of Richlandtown, previously pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and related offenses stemming from the March 2025 incident. Prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge as part of the plea agreement.

The victim, Khalik Lewis, was 19 at the time and delivering food to McKeever’s home on Cherry Street.

Surveillance video showed McKeever confronting and threatening Lewis shortly after he arrived. As Lewis attempted to leave in his Honda Civic, McKeever fired a 9mm handgun.

The bullet shattered the Civic’s rear windshield. Lewis later discovered the bullet had become lodged in the hood of his sweatshirt.

Lewis was not physically injured but said the shooting continues to affect him. He stopped working for DoorDash after the incident and said loud noises still trigger him and he has difficulty sleeping.

McKeever initially told Pennsylvania State Police that he had not fired a gun and suggested the noise neighbors heard was a vehicle backfiring, according to court records.

During sentencing, McKeever apologized and said he intended to scare Lewis, not hurt him. His attorney said McKeever had been struggling with untreated mental-health issues at the time and has since resumed treatment and therapy.

Judge Steven Corr said it was essentially luck that Lewis wasn’t killed and that nobody else was struck by the gunfire on the residential street.

Lewis said he believed the sentence should have been more severe.

“Literally, my life was just inches away from ending,” he said.
