There’s something powerful about this moment.

Standing together as a chapter of the National Montford Point Marine Association, capturing this photo—it feels bigger than just a picture. It’s legacy. It’s brotherhood. It’s history still breathing.

To take this photo in the presence of the National Museum of the Marine Corps—a place that now stands just over 20 years strong—makes it even more meaningful. And as we reflect on our own chapter celebrating 20 years just last year, the alignment is undeniable.

Two decades of honoring those who paved the way.
Two decades of preserving a story that refuses to be forgotten.

Standby for the photo!

Hidden in the woods, at one of the busiest intersections in Johns Creek… lies a truth we can no longer ignore.

What you’re looking at is not just a map.

It’s a revelation.

For years, it was believed that only a small number of souls rested at the historic Macedonia Cemetery. But through Ground Penetrating Radar, the City helped uncover something far greater…

177 additional possible burials.

Each box in this image represents a life.
A name.
A story that deserves to be remembered.

This is no longer speculation—this is evidence.

Because of this work, families now have a chance to reconnect. Descendants can stand on sacred ground and say, “We see you.”

We are grateful to the City of Johns Creek for taking this critical step—because acknowledgment is where restoration begins.

But this is only the beginning.

Now comes the responsibility:

To protect.
To document.
To honor every single soul.

As we move forward, we do so with purpose—ensuring that what was once hidden…
is now recognized, respected, and never forgotten.

SOMETHING POWERFUL HAPPENED ON SATURDAY APRIL 18th, 2026
In the quiet woods of Macedonia Cemetery, a story that was once buried began to speak—on film.

I want to personally thank and congratulate an incredible team of professionals, storytellers, historians, and truth-seekers who showed up with purpose, precision, and heart.
What you see in these photos is more than a production… it’s a mission in motion.

From capturing the legacy of April Waters and Herman W. Ousley…
To documenting the ground that holds over 200 souls…
To giving voice to those who were once written into history as property…
On Saturday, we didn’t just film—we honored, we uncovered, and we preserved.
The photos are just a glimpse. A teaser.
What’s coming next… is something the world needs to see.

Thank you to everyone who made today possible.
This is how history is restored.

Hidden in the woods, at one of the busiest intersections in Johns Creek, GA… lies a story that was never meant to disappear.
What we once believed were a small number of graves has now been revealed—through ground-penetrating radar—to be far more. Over 177 additional burial sites, resting silently beneath the surface. Mothers. Fathers. Children. Freedmen. Builders of community. Americans whose stories were buried, but not erased.
This isn’t just history… this is unfinished business.
Right now, we have a narrow window to act—to preserve, protect, and properly honor those who came before us. The land has spoken. The question is… will we listen?
We need your help.
Watch this video. Share it. Stand with us.
Because dignity should never be delayed… and remembrance should never be optional.

Thank You FOX 5 Atlanta for shining a light on the historic Macedonia African Methodist Church Cemetery in Johns Creek, Georgia- a sacred place that holds more than 185 years of history and over 200 African Americans burials.

Among those buried there is my great-great grandfather, April Waters, whose life and legacy are part of the story of families who endured slavery, Reconstruction, and the long path toward freedom.

Today, we are working to ensure that this sacred ground—and the stories of those buried there—are preserved and honored for future generations.

We invite you to watch the FOX 5 story and, if you are moved by this history, please consider supporting the effort to restore and preserve the Macedonia Cemetery.
