I haven't posted in a long time. 😒This is why I have a cricket on my post.

I have struggled with my own mental health balancing so many things that we all have to balance every day. Life is hard. Someone has to do it. I have to be strong for myself, for my daughter, for my family. It isn't easy.

I have struggled with the fact that I am returning to a very demanding job and that I won't be the one picking up my daughter from school anymore (give me a tissue please!!😪)

I have struggled with posting every single day for a business that isn't thriving in my opinion. (another tissue please? 😭)

I have struggled with my own mental health balancing so many things that we all have to balance everyday. Life is hard. Someone has to do it. I have to be strong for myself, for my daughter, for my family. It isn't easy.

So, instead of posting about random Pinterest tips and tricks I have been focusing my energy elsewhere. Did my "social media presence" go down? Probably. I haven't looked at the data yet. I kinda don't want to see it. 😫

If you are having a struggle or a tough time like I am, talk to someone, a professional. You don't really want to be told "you'll get over it", or "we all have it hard". I speak to my counselor and get all of the stuff off my chest. It isn't like with a family member being judged or fear they will gossip. You have the confidentiality and dedicated time to be heard, understood, validated.

No shame in the game of mental health. Take care of yourselves! I'll try to post consistently again. If I were thriving I would hire a Virtual Assistant to do this for me!!

This may seem boring data stuff however, it is important to keep in mind.

Pinterest announced in April, 2021 the financial results for the quarter ending March 31, 2021:

💹Q1 revenue grew 78% year over year to $485 million. 🥳This shows how impactful Pinterest can be for YOUR business.

💹Global Monthly Active Users (MAUs) grew 30% year over year to 478 million. 🤯This is great marketing for YOUR business and reach to new potential clients/customers.

💹GAAP new loss was $(22) million for Q1. Adjusted EBITDA was $84 million for Q1. 🤔Crickets. I don't know what this means but 478 million users on Pinterest shows me that people are on Pinterest!!!

Some days are harder than others. Just a reminder that:

Take a deep breath. Lots of you know how to do deep breath work, many of you do yoga and the latest newest trendy exercise regimens. Whatever works for you. You can go from entirely still mediation to movement. Whatever your body and brain need is what you should do! If you don't know then try something new.

You are stronger than you think, better than you believe, and can do anything if you face your fears!

Some days, you don't feel this way. I get it. I have many of these days. I have negative self-talk jabbing me from every.single.angle. 🤛

Sorry, went off on a tangent. I got this, YOU got this!!!

Many things that are rewarded culturally are actually acts of self harm. We don’t always see them that way because they provide us with social status or approval from parents/friends.

From the time we are children, we are programmed with beliefs about ‘success.’ About what it is to be a good person. About what traits/emotions are ok to express + which ones should be completely denied or repressed.

It’s why I always struggled with the idea of ‘clinical depression’ or ‘clinical anxiety.’ These states are so common + we rarely ask why. We diagnose + treat without looking at the patterns + beliefs that have created a collective so depressed, so distracted, so frustrated, + so lost.

Self harm that is rewarded by society looks like:

1. Overworking/overachieving/constantly ‘going’: Having visions + ambitions is a gift where we get to challenge ourselves + create what we wish to see. Having an ambition you didn’t consciously choose, or using the avatar of a ‘workaholic’ is often a means of escape that leads to severe unhappiness.

2. Self sacrifice as love: we often reward or hold people as virtuous who ‘put everyone before themselves.’ This pattern leads to resentment + ultimately disconnection from the people we love because we betray ourselves in the process. We cannot truly give until we give to ourselves first.

3. Over-extending ourselves financially to ‘keep up’ with others: leads to cycles of chronic comparison + stress.

4. Being always available (on call): especially rewarded within family + work environments. Leads to lack of boundaries/resentment

5. Social media ‘outrage’: social media outrage occurs when we (without breaks) consume content that puts us on a cycle of emotional addiction. These platforms are designed to use our dopamine + cortisol hits to keep us using the product. They can lead us to feeling helpless + have a narrative of the world that doesn’t necessarily reflect reality.

6. Sticking with it (never quitting): it’s a beautiful thing to see something through. We have a false belief that quitting is somehow bad or makes us a failure. Quitting things that don’t align + trying new things is actually the path of happiness
