📰 GLASS NEWS 🗞️

GLASS INDUSTRY NEWS | GLASS PROCESSING IS GOING AUTOMATED

Glaston Showcases the Future of Glass Manufacturing at glasstec 2026

The future of glass processing is becoming faster, smarter, and more energy-efficient.

At glasstec 2026, Glaston showcased new automation technologies designed to improve production efficiency, quality, and manufacturing flexibility.

Here are three key highlights:

• Up to 35% higher output: The latest TPS® PRO technology aims to improve insulating glass unit (IGU) production through uninterrupted processing and automatic thickness adjustment.

• Automated tempering: A fully automated tempering process operating at Finland’s Best Glass Oy demonstrates how intelligent production planning can help improve consistency, capacity, and energy efficiency.

• Advanced laminated glass: Glaston demonstrated the automated production of 90 mm-thick bullet-resistant laminated glass, highlighting the capabilities of modern glass processing technology.

What does this mean for the glass industry?

Automation is no longer just about producing more glass. It is about improving quality, reducing manual handling, managing complex orders, and making better use of energy and equipment.

For glass processors and fabricators, the message is clear: investing in smarter production methods can help businesses prepare for increasingly demanding architectural and industrial applications.

At Bear Glass Inc., we believe that understanding new glass technologies is essential to moving the industry forward.
