Meet Zestix. Multifactor authentication is such a pain — for her, that is😏

Zestix walked straight into more than 50 multinational companies for one boring reason: some people never turned on multifactor authentication (MFA).

The playbook is simple. Criminals scoop up stolen passwords from the Dark Web, then spray them across thousands of accounts using automated software. If your account is protected by a password alone — that password is all it takes. And if global companies fall for it, any of our accounts are fair game too.

One extra step. That's the entire difference🛑

Don't make life easy for Zestix:
1️⃣ Turn on MFA on every account that offers it — it's often a 60-second setup
2️⃣ Use an authenticator app (Duo, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator) or biometrics like Face ID whenever you can
3️⃣ Never reuse passwords or "iterations" — adding a $ to your old password is not a new password

Bonus tip: a texted code beats no MFA at all, but an authenticator app or biometrics is stronger. Start with whichever gets you protected today 📲

Have you turned on a MFA yet? 👇

Meet dpxaker. Long, unique passwords are just too much work for him. 🙄

Dariy Pankov — known online as "dpxaker" — funded a very lavish lifestyle by selling password-cracking software to criminals for just $250 a pop. No subscription needed. Powered by AI, his tool test-storms thousands of password combinations every single second.

Guess what those tools love most? Pet names. Birthdays. And the same password reused across every account. 🐶🎂🔁

Here's the part that should make you sit up: an 8-character password can be cracked in seconds — no matter how many &s and !s you sprinkle in. A complex 16-character password takes billions of years. Hackers don't have that kind of time. ⏳

Don't make life easy for dpxaker:
1️⃣ Make every password at least 16 characters long
2️⃣ Keep every password unique to that one account
3️⃣ Use a random mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
4️⃣ Let a password manager create and store them for you — many are safe, easy, and even free

Your pet's name is adorable. Don't hand it to a criminal. 🐾
