A new chapter begins at Gopher Hill Gold Mines!
The legend of Gopher Hill runs deep, a story etched in the earth and the creeks of the 1800s gold rush. Over a million ounces of gold were mined from these lands by those who came before us, but their story is far from over. The old timers, with their less-advanced methods, left behind as much as they took. We think that a significant portion—likely over a third—was lost in the tailings, never reaching a smelting facility.
Now, with today's high gold values and cutting-edge technology, a vast fortune awaits. We're preparing to re-process those historical tailings with modern efficiency, extracting the precious gold that was once just considered waste. But that's not all. Our team has confirmed that over 2 million cubic yards of virgin, un-mined ground remain at Curtis Point, the historic hydraulic mine at the east side of Gopher Hill.
This isn't just a nostalgic look back; it's a new gold rush, and we're leading the charge. Join us as we uncover the vast wealth the original miners left behind, and find the fortune still waiting in the virgin ground. The next chapter of Gopher Hill is here! .

These pictures are from exploration work done at Curtis Point back in 2020. They show some of the gravels on the north side of the mine. There are 2 million cubic yards of these virgin gravels remaining. While cutting in trenches an old drift tunnel was discovered. The old timers worked the claims in the 1850's and used hydraulic methods when water was available and then drifting methods when it wasn't. Tests from 2019 and 2020 showed the lower gravel values here to be around a gram per yard or $90 (2-25 values). Equipment used here was a Gold Claimer Pioneer 30 trommel.

From Marty Rice * President Gopher Hill Gold Mines : Some new news to post. Our Director of Exploration Curtis Vedder will be giving a tour of the mining property to a mining engineer in May. We are really looking forward to getting some input on our site & proposed operations. We have several areas of interest. The old Stevenson Shaft area is one of them as well as the historic Curtis Point Mine we tested the last two years. There are also several abandoned hydraulic pits I am interested in exploring in the future. I will be posting more on this sometime in May.
