Weekly Highlight #9 | Meeting People Where They Are

Real engagement is more than inviting people into a room. It’s about preparing them, connecting them to the right opportunities, removing barriers, and following through.

For the August 28 Public Safety Building Workforce Hiring Event, Domina:

✔️ Vetted and interviewed 46 candidates
✔️ Prepared 15 candidates who completed the required steps and were ready to interview
✔️ Connected candidates with 8 contractors that had immediate workforce needs
✔️ Brought in 7 local resource partners to support both candidates and employers
✔️ Saw 2 candidates hired by Monday morning, with additional hiring and apprenticeship opportunities still moving forward

Before the event, candidates received support with credentials, trades-focused resumes, union pathways, resources, and interview preparation. After the event, we continue working with both candidates and contractors to help move opportunities toward real outcomes.

Engagement isn’t attendance. It’s connection.

We’re grateful to Racine County, Gilbane, WRTP | BIG STEP, Unifocal, participating contractors, resource partners, and every candidate who helped make this work possible.

🙌🏽 BACK-TO-SCHOOL TIME! 🙌🏽

The summer snack committee has officially adjourned, the activities have wrapped up, and parents everywhere are celebrating the return of routines! Of course, we know the school year brings its own special kind of chaos: early mornings, homework, practices, games, meetings, and an entirely new schedule to master. 😅

From all of us at Domina Consulting, we wish every student, educator, school staff member, and family a safe, fantastic, and successful 2026–2027 school year! 📚✏️🎒

To all the parents and caregivers adjusting to new routines: give yourself grace, stay positive, and remember that it may take a little time for everyone to find their rhythm.

And a special shout-out to the moms, dads, guardians, and entrepreneurs balancing school schedules, extracurricular activities, careers, businesses, and family life—we see you! Weekly Highlight #8 | We Don’t Just Identify the Gaps. We Help Close Them.

Data can tell us where there’s a gap. Engagement helps us understand why—and strong partnerships help us do something about it.

One example is Timothy Davis, a Racine County resident and WRTP | BIG STEP graduate who connected with Klein-Dickert Co., Inc.through our September 2025 hiring event. Nearly a year later, Timothy remains a valued member of their team and continues building his career in the trades.

That’s the kind of outcome we work toward.

We’re grateful to Klein-Dickert Glass for continuing to invest in local workforce and for exceeding their workforce participation commitments on the Racine County Behavioral Health Project.

💧 Two Events. One Goal. Connecting Racine Residents with Resources!

The EquiFlow Community Outreach Team had a great couple of days connecting with our community at the Downtown Racine HayMarket on Thursday, August 6, followed by First Fridays at The Domina Forum on Friday, August 7!

Across both events, we had 32 conversations with Racine residents about two important City of Racine initiatives:

🏠 EquiFlow Lead-Free Program — helping residents understand the lead service line replacement process, Right of Entry (ROE) forms, and how to take the next step toward replacement.

💧 City of Racine Sub Pump Program — sharing information and helping homeowners understand how to participate and complete the application process.

These face-to-face conversations are an important part of our outreach. They give residents an opportunity to ask questions, get accurate information, and receive one-on-one assistance navigating programs that directly impact their homes and neighborhoods.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, talked with us, asked questions, and helped spread the word! 💙
