Cooking is the leading cause of house fires and home fire injuries, and the second-leading cause for home fire deaths, the Red Cross said.- Daily Herald

Take Precautions-
Use a timer as a reminder that the stove or oven is on.
Avoid loose clothing while cooking
Keep children and pets out of the kitchen or away from cooking areas
Keep anything flammable away from stove or other heat producing appliances
Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen
