💥💫🎊 I’m proud to share that I’ve officially “recertified” my Board Certified Patient Advocate ( ) credential for a second time. Thank you to the Patient Advocate Certification Board, Inc. ( ) for another three years, valid through June 2029!
Recertification is more than a renewal for me. It’s a recommitment, and it carries a story.
Seven years ago, I sat beside my father as he navigated end stage renal disease and heart failure. I watched him fight, I watched him tire, and I watched a healthcare system that too often left families to figure things out on their own. He passed in late 2019, but the lessons he taught me about advocacy, dignity, and showing up never left.
One of the last things he said to me as he held my hand was, “I couldn’t have navigated my doctors, disease, long term care insurance and everything else, without you.”
Those words have stayed with me through every client, every claim, every difficult conversation since.
That experience changed the entire course of my life.
In 2020, I earned my BCPA credential and built a practice rooted in everything I learned walking that road with him.
🌟To the families trying to make sense of a new diagnosis.
🌟To the adult children managing care for a parent from another state.
🌟To the clients navigating long term care insurance claims, new diagnosis, chronic disease coordination, and the maze of decisions that come with serious illness.
💜To honoring my father by continuing to show up for others the way I wish more had shown up for us.
chose me before I chose it. I’m grateful every day to do this work.
