Pecan Pie and I spent part of our Friday making the rounds and visiting veterinary hospitals around the Triangle. 🩵

Some were new relationships, like VEG Chapel Hill, where we received the warmest welcome and Pecan made approximately 47 new best friends. 😂 Others were familiar faces, like Truss Vet Durham, where we returned after our Lunch & Learn earlier this summer.

I really love getting out into our veterinary community and getting to know the people caring for these families before they ever need us. End-of-life care is so much better when we know one another, trust one another, and can work together to help families through some of their hardest days.

Pecan takes his role in relationship building very seriously. I mostly provide transportation. 🩵

Enrichment doesn’t have to mean a big adventure. 🐾
Take a different route on your walk. Let your dog spend a little longer sniffing the yard. Give your cat a new cardboard box to investigate. Hide a few treats around the house, or move a favorite bed to a window with a good view.
It doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or even take you far from home.
We don’t need to turn every pet into an “adventure pet.” We just need to learn what their version of adventure looks like—and give them more opportunities to enjoy it.

Spring is here 🌿
and with it… a few gentle reminders.

Not everything in the yard is as safe as it looks:

🌱 lawn treatments
🌸 certain plants (especially lilies for cats)
🐌 pest control products
💧 puddles and runoff

Small shifts can go a long way—wipe paws, offer fresh water, and be mindful of what’s been applied outdoors.

Spring should feel soft.
With a little awareness, it can stay that way.

Spring has sprung 🌸
and we have thoughts.
We have been outside (supervised, obviously)
and while it is beautiful… it is also suspicious.
There are:
🌱 grasses (itchy?? rude??)
🌸 flowers (very pretty, not for eating, we are told)
🐌 little crunchy things (we would like to investigate further)
💧 puddles (dis is not water, do not drink dis… allegedly)
Also… a very important announcement from management:
lilies = absolutely not for cats 🚫
even a small sniffy-sniff + grooming situation is a no.
We know. We are upset about it too.
So as you go outside and do your little spring activities, please remember:
just because it is ✨nature✨
does not mean it is for licking.
We will continue to monitor the situation from our stroller.
