Sankofa Innovations, LLC, based in Raleigh, NC, is an entrepreneurial venture focused on initiatives that amplify African American voices and promote cultural innovation. One of its known projects is blackVOICESnow, which curates TED-like speaking events featuring African American and underrepresented thought leaders. The company combines event management, cultural advocacy, and educational empowerment, particularly emphasizing historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and young students of color.
blackVOICESnow is an innovative platform dedicated to uplifting and amplifying Black voices. As an initiative of Sankofa Innovations, LLC, it provides a space/platform for African American and underrepresented thought leaders to share transformative ideas and inspire action.

Sankofa Innovations, LLC proudly introduces the “blackVOICESnow HBCU Tour” a dynamic initiative designed to bring its mission to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This tour will provide students, faculty, and local communities with a platform to engage in impactful conversations, celebrate Black excellence, and be inspired by both emerging and established trailblazing speakers.
The “blackVOICESnow HBCU Tour” will kick off at the historic Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, bringing its mission of motivation, storytelling, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership to this esteemed institution. As the oldest HBCU in the South, Shaw University stands as a symbol of Black excellence and innovation. This inaugural event will set the foundation for a powerful series of engagements at HBCU campuses across the country.
Six dynamic speakers will take the stage to inspire and motivate Shaw University students on their academic and professional journeys. Some will share their experiences transitioning from HBCUs into diverse career fields, while others will offer insights into how their own career paths have shaped their lives and those around them. This event will highlight the many seen and unseen opportunities that can emerge along the way, encouraging students to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.
