Our latest Veteran Salute recognizes Saul Chavez, a Site Supervisor in our Los Angeles region.

His journey demonstrates how military discipline and civilian opportunity come together to build a meaningful career. Saul continues to proudly serve his country as a Sergeant (E-5) in the United States Army. He began his military service at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, serving as an Army Chaplain Assistant (56M) where he provides armed personal security for non-combatants. Having completed overseas orders and recently earning his promotion to Sergeant, Saul approaches both his military duty and his role at Sunstates with the mindset that the mission always comes first.

At Sunstates, he appreciates the positive team culture, supportive leadership, and growth opportunities that allow him to excel in his career while honoring his active military commitments. Last month on 9/11, the Sunstates corporate team stepped away from the office to turn remembrance into meaningful, collective action.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of September 11, we took part in the annual 9/11 Day Meal Pack. Working side by side, our team packed shelf-stable meals to support local individuals and families confronting hunger.

Across the country, the scale of this initiative was inspiring. Over 52,000 volunteers from 800 companies mobilized across 51 cities, coming together to prepare nearly 18 million meals for families in need.
