Let’s talk about data for a minute—why it matters and why you need to be monitoring it regularly.

For those of you who follow me, you know my washing machine recently crapped out on me.

So, what did we do?

Did we just go out, write a blank check, and grab the first machine we saw?

Nope. We used our data.

We knew what we had (budget, space, needs).

We figured out what we had to have to at least keep things running as they were, and what we wanted to have to do more.

Then, we researched—brands, reviews, pricing—until we found the right fit.

Your business works the same way.

If you aren’t monitoring your data consistently—and in the right way—you’ll struggle to move forward or even maintain where you are.

Some businesses don’t just stall from lack of data; they lose traction altogether.

Who's Missing at the Table?

Working with clients lately, I kept running into the same issue—decisions being made without the right people in the room. 🤦‍♀️

If you’re dealing with:
🔹 Uncollected A/R – but the people who actually track it aren’t in the conversation.
🔹 Constantly changing requirements – yet the ones impacted the most find out after the fact.
🔹 Expansion planning – but key insights are missing because the right folks weren’t brought in early enough.

It’s no wonder things get off track.

What Needs to Change?

Too often, meetings are filled with people who shouldn’t be there, while the ones who should be… aren’t invited. And then we wonder why there are delays, miscommunication, and unnecessary backtracking. 😬

Here’s the Fix:

✅ Know the goal – What decision needs to be made? What info is required?
✅ Get the right people involved – Who actually knows the details? Who will this impact?
✅ Bring them in at the right time – Not too early, not too late, but when their input actually matters.

Bottom Line?

If you want to move faster and make better decisions, make sure the right voices are at the table. Otherwise, you’re setting yourself up for frustration, inefficiencies, and wasted time.
