It is my pleasure to recognize Chris as our Employee of the Month!

Chris has been a valued member of American Security Associates, Inc. since March 7, 2023, and currently serves as the Security Supervisor at one of our Florida resorts.His leadership, dedication, and hard work have made a noticeable difference. He has strengthened his team, improved overall performance, and helped create a more professional and positive working environment.

Chris has also been working closely with our CEO to implement new policies and procedures designed to enhance safety, accountability, and the quality of service we provide our clients.

Recently, Chris demonstrated exceptional awareness and initiative while monitoring a police scanner. After learning of a suspected overdose at one of our properties, he immediately dispatched security personnel to the location. Our security team arrived before first responders and was prepared to assist and help secure the area. His quick thinking and proactive response reflect the leadership and commitment we value at American Security Associates.

Chris is well-liked and trusted by the owners at one of our premier properties, and he has earned the respect of his peers by consistently demonstrating professionalism and leading by example.

Many, many moons ago, the CEO of our company, Michelle Seiz, had the incredible honor of providing personal protection for Dolly Parton during a book signing for Coat of Many Colors.

In true Dolly fashion, she made everyone laugh when she said, “I only want women sitting beside me because I don’t want those men looking at my tits!”

As a young female security officer, Michelle sat beside Miss Parton, protected her, and had the privilege of spending several unforgettable hours with her. She remembers simply admiring everything about her. Dolly Parton was exactly the woman in person that the world saw on television—warm, funny, gracious, genuine, and completely unforgettable.

Miss Parton, you were a true queen, an irreplaceable American treasure, and the icon of a lifetime. It was one of the greatest honors of Michelle’s career to protect you and share that special time with you.

Your music, your kindness, your humor, and your beautiful spirit will live on forever.

🕵️‍♀️👜 THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF THE GUCCI BAG… SOLVED! 👜🕵️‍♂️

You just never know what kind of mystery our security team is going to be handed next! 😂

Earlier this month, a guest reported that her Gucci purse had gone missing during an evening event at one of the properties we protect. What followed was nearly two days of reviewing video, tracking movements, working with law enforcement, and putting together the pieces of the puzzle.

And our team did not give up.

A special shoutout goes to Bailey with Owner Services, who spent HOURS reviewing surveillance footage and unknowingly built an incredibly detailed video timeline that became a major piece of the investigation. Working alongside Captain Smith, Lt. Godsell, our security team, and the Panama City Beach Police Department, the investigation ultimately led to a search warrant.

And guess what?

✅ The Gucci purse was recovered.
✅ The missing property was recovered.
✅ The mystery was SOLVED. 🎉

Cases like this are a perfect example of what can happen when property staff, professional security, and law enforcement work together as one team.

We were so proud of everyone involved that we decided solving The Great Gucci Bag Mystery of 2026 deserved a celebration! 😂 So we threw the team an appreciation party complete with catered barbecue! 🍖🎉

Because when your people go above and beyond, you make sure they know how much you appreciate them.

Great job to everyone involved, and a huge thank you to PCBPD for their partnership and hard work.

At American Security Associates, sometimes protecting a property means being a security officer… and sometimes it means being a detective too. 🕵️‍♂️💙

There’s something extra special about a new account startup day — and today we’re officially kicking off another new location in Missouri! 🎉🇺🇸

Then one of my managers sent me this sweet message while she was getting everything underway today. She stopped next door and a woman recognized our company and said, “You’re from that female-owned company, right? I think that’s wonderful.” ❤️

I absolutely love this. Over the years, we’ve worked so hard to grow American Security Associates the right way, and it means so much to see our name becoming more and more recognized — even in communities where we’re just getting started.

As a woman-owned, WBENC-certified company, moments like this make me incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited about where we’re going.

⚖️ DID YOU KNOW? BEFORE YOU HIT “RECORD,” YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE OTHER PERSON IS.

New York is generally a one-party consent state. But Florida has a much stricter recording law and generally requires all parties to consent to the interception or recording of a protected private conversation, subject to certain exceptions.

And here’s the part people sometimes overlook:

🚨 It may not be just a criminal issue — you could potentially be SUED, too.

Under Florida Statute § 934.03, unlawfully intercepting or recording a protected communication can potentially result in criminal charges.

But it doesn’t necessarily end there.

Under Florida Statute § 934.10, the person whose communication was unlawfully intercepted may also have a civil cause of action. Depending on the circumstances, civil remedies can include actual or statutory damages, punitive damages, attorney’s fees, litigation costs, and other appropriate relief.

So one recording could potentially create two very different problems: criminal exposure AND a civil lawsuit.

📌 Florida: Fla. Stat. §§ 934.03 & 934.10
📌 New York: N.Y. Penal Law §§ 250.00 & 250.05

And when a call crosses state lines, don’t assume the law of the state you’re sitting in is the only law that matters. Interstate recording cases can involve complicated questions about which state’s law applies.

Moral of the story: Know the law before you hit record. That little red button can become very expensive. ⚖️

Security is a regulated profession.

Security companies don’t simply decide who can and cannot work in a licensed position. Every state has its own licensing, background-check, registration, and eligibility requirements that security providers are required to follow.

Criminal history can have significant consequences for eligibility for regulated security positions, depending on the offense, the duties of the position, and the laws of the state involved.

As a professional security provider, our responsibility is to follow the requirements established by the agencies that regulate our industry. Those requirements aren’t optional—and neither is protecting the clients, employees, and communities we serve.
