A few years ago, I went to a retreat in the Outer Banks knowing no one.

That’s where I met Dawn.

And Courtney.

And since then, we have traveled and attending different retreats together and I got to meet…Heather. And Julena.

This weekend, I was in Boise celebrating Dawn as she shared about her summit to Everest.

And I kept thinking about HER.

The women you meet when you leave your house and do something outside of your ordinary.

The ones you never could have planned for.

The friendships you didn’t know were waiting for you.
The people who end up changing the way you experience your own life.

It’s rarely convenient.
It’s almost never the perfect time.
And yes, sometimes it feels like too much money. That first retreat where I met Dawn and Courtney we paid $5,000 to attend. And they were worth it.

What to know the truth? Staying home has a cost, too.

Because there are women you are bound to meet when you go.

And there is a version of you waiting on the other side of meeting them.

Who you become when you meet HER is a version of yourself just waiting to be let free.

One of the most meaningful moments of every Brand Authority experience happens after the cameras stop rolling.

It's hearing what the day meant to the person standing in front of the lens.

This wasn't a scripted testimonial.

One of the reasons I love speaking on panels is that the audience questions often uncover the beliefs that are quietly limiting people's growth.

This conversation was about leadership.

My answer probably wasn't what they expected.

I believe there are incredible leaders who have built remarkable businesses, earned deep trust, and changed countless lives—but very few people outside their existing circle know they exist.

That's not because they lack expertise.

It's because they aren't visible.

If you're called to lead, your perspective matters. Your ideas matter. Your experience matters. And if those things stay hidden, someone else—perhaps someone with less experience or less integrity—will shape the conversation instead.

Visibility isn't about ego.

It's about stewardship.

It's about making sure your voice, your values, and your point of view have the opportunity to influence the people who need them most.

If you're waiting until everything feels perfect before you start showing up, let me encourage you with this:

People don't connect with perfection.
