"West Virginia State Police Troopers expected a routine DUI arrest. What they found instead broke their hearts — a 1-year-old baby in the back seat, sitting in urine, vomit, and filth.

Senior Trooper D.C. Graham said, “As a father myself, I couldn’t let him sit like that. So I drew a bath in the sink at the detachment, cleaned him up, and got him feeling a little better.”

What happened next? Pure joy.
A clean onesie, safe arms, and suddenly — smiles. Giggles. The kind of baby laughter that fills a room.

The troopers came to rescue that child, but in many ways, the baby rescued them too — reminding everyone of the innocence worth protecting.

The child is now safe with a legal guardian under CPS supervision.

Sometimes, true service isn’t just about arrests or reports. It’s about humanity. It’s about a trooper pausing to give a baby back his dignity — and a reason to smile."

Please all parents and grandparents make sure your babies can swim and survive water. Drowning is preventable!!!! Do you realize it is the leading cause of accidental deaths in children? There is no excuse and if the parents will not get their children lessons grandparents do it yourselves. Even if it means you cross the line and make your kids angry. You fight the fight! You step up and make sure it is done. For me it is a form of neglect to allow kids in pools that cannot survive water fun. My youngest son and his wife built a pool after his kids learned to swim in approved Aquatics instruction. Then hired an instructor that taught again in their own pool. Until they were comfortable the pool was fenced in with a lock on it to prevent any child in the neighborhood and their own children from any threat of a potential accident. I remember them talking about how their girls screamed and/or cried not wanting to do it and how difficult at times to watch someone making them learn survival skills. But the knowledge of an alternative of possibly drowning without it far outweighed. Sometimes you have to suck it up and grin and bear it........and they did. Swim lessons is an absolute necessity and if you don't have the money........borrow it or give up one of your on vices to afford it. As a parent this is as important as any other life requirement to keep your child safe as a parent. No excuses.........just do it! I'm done. I pray you have listened to this post!

A child is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being pulled from a pool on Gail Ridge Lane in Wendell, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
