In response to the ravages of Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association, National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund have combined resources to donate $75,000 to the N.C. Disaster Relief Fund. Beer distributors and our partners quickly mobilized their teams and fleets to deliver hundreds of thousands of bottled water for affected communities. The effort continues. David "Crockett" Long, president of Long Beverage in Raleigh, was buried August 30 following a memorial service at Duke Chapel attended by more than 700 friends and family. Mr. Long was 68 years old, served as Association chairman from 2013-2015 and has been chairman of our political action committee ever since. We are deeply saddened by the loss of this generous and philanthropic man who gave so much to his industry and community.

Over the last 15 months, the U.S. beer industry has dealt with a myriad of challenges---bar closures, no in-person events, out-of-date draft beer that can't be sold. Despite that, the beer business remains strong with 2 million local jobs and a $330 billion economic impact. Cheers!!
