Dear ,
You reminded of a couple of things that feel very connected to artists and what we do in our lives and in our work (and what we really should be doing and thinking about ourselves).

💜For 1, you have a history that needs no daily explanation. You’re solid in knowing what you are and like via expression. You’ve become (and remained)something wonderful, part of a larger community but also a very different, inimitable, unique, and authentic member of it. You’re something wonderful that is a result of your unique history, circumstances, and experiences and should never be adjusted to “fit in,” you’re recognizable, a culture and institution respected and known for what it is and has come to be and, as such, should NEVER try to bend or hide. Many are 💜 thankful that you haven’t because you wouldn’t be you if you didn’t follow and honor your nature, that history, that skill, that voice you have and all you are. You are the one who puts feathers on a cake? Well then do it! We’re waiting and we’re watching💚💜💛

And 2, you’ve got something that isn’t for everyone. Speak to all, invite all, but live for you and a select group you line up with and need you. You aren’t for everyone and not all of you will be understood, loved, liked, or appreciated AND THAT’S OKAY! Some are gonna love ya, some are gonna like ya, and some are gonna love parts of you only; some are going to like Canal Street but not Bourbon Street. Your job is to hold steady and whole. Don’t become Chicago if you’re New Orleans or look to become Texas if you’re feeling more like Maine. 💃🏻

Authenticity, story, perpetuation, patterns, confidence, and community- I’ve designed all marketing tasks and services I offer to be centered in these and I look for it everywhere and hope to meet you! I take great care with understanding your art. It’s been my passion to support YOUR passion for many decades now. In my career as an artist and in marketing art and supporting many artists in many difference disciplines, it’s been my experience that there’s *always* a deeper level of understanding and ways of thinking about the work that can be acquired through new lenses and deeper conversations.
