A small bump on the skin…
But the diagnosis turned out to be much more unusual than expected.

Any guesses what it could be? 👀

Drop your ideas in the comments — we’ll reveal the diagnosis in 2 days.

SNAKE BITE: HOW DO WE TREAT IT? 🐍🐾

When a pet comes to us after a suspected venomous snake bite, treatment depends on the snake, location of the bite, symptoms, and severity.

At the clinic, treatment may include:
🩺 rapid examination and monitoring
💉 IV catheter and fluid therapy when indicated
💊 pain management
🧪 bloodwork and clotting tests
❤️ monitoring blood pressure and vital signs
🐍 antivenom when medically indicated
🏥 hospitalization and supportive care for more serious cases

Swelling and tissue damage can progress after the bite, so don’t wait to see what happens.

❌ Do not cut the bite, suck out the venom, apply ice, or use a tourniquet.
❌ Do not give human pain medications.

If you suspect a snake bite, keep your pet as calm and still as possible and seek veterinary care immediately.
