Get creative! Organizing is a game of Tetris and some days you have to think outside the box. ♦️This was the first time I used a wine rack for rolling pin storage….and I LOVED it! 😍 I encourage my clients and community to use what you have to get organized. It doesn’t mean you need to buy more bins if that isn’t in the budget. Having a structure that works is what is most important.

Curious about what happens to all the items my clients choose to donate during our session?📦🧹 I manage the donations and help make sure that useful items get to people in need. One of my favorite parts about organizing is getting to donate to groups making a difference! Depending on the item there are a variety of places that can take donations of clothes, household items & books. A few to consider in your area: the local library, 📚women’s shelter or homeless shelter 👖, animal rescues 🐾🦮, local schools, food pantries 🥫or military organizations! 🇺🇸

32+ racks of clothes! 🙃 That is the biggest clothing project I’ve ever organized.

Clothing can be get out of hand fast and if there is one thing I’ve learned organizing, it is that clothing needs to be managed regularly.

My favorite part about this project was we made major donations to a variety of local groups in need AND the client made $50k back in resale!! 💵💵 I call it a WIN WIN!

If you are headed into the new year and looking to tackle your clothing keep these three things in mind:
1. Keep items you actually wear! Get honest with your self and make sure the items you keep are ones you love. ❤️
2. Don’t keep clothes you feel “blah” about, chances are you won’t grab them from the closet.
3. Don’t live in the past. We can get emotionally attached to clothes that “were our favorite”…myself included. If the item served a purpose for a time but hasn’t done so in years, time to let it go.

Pantries can be really challenging! They are not all perfect squares with plenty of space. ✨

Especially after the holiday season, our pantries are often overflowing. Now is such a great time to do a reset.

A pantry reset for me looks like:
1. Pulling excess food that can be donated to those in need
2. Checking expiration dates
3. Combining any multiples that may both be open by mistake
4. Removing any foods that were holiday treats but not part of our daily eating habits or that don’t align with health goals in the new year!
5. Checking my labels and adjusting product as needed.

It doesn’t have to take a long time but keeping your pantry in good shape pays off daily and helps simplify cooking and meal prep. 👏🏼

Now…off to go clear that extra bag of kisses I’ve been snacking on. 😊
