Fact: Reconciled doesn’t always mean accurate. 📊

Reconciliation confirms that your account balances match your bank or credit card statements. That’s important, but it’s only one layer of financial accuracy.
Transactions can still be categorized incorrectly.
Expenses can be misclassified.
Revenue can be recorded in the wrong place.

If you’re self-employed, what you track matters. 📊

When you work for yourself, there’s no payroll department or finance team quietly keeping score. That responsibility and opportunity belongs to you.

At a minimum, you should consistently track:

• Income by client
• All business expenses
• Mileage and home office deductions
• Quarterly estimated taxes
• Owner pay/draws
• Accounts receivable

Why? Because revenue alone doesn’t tell you what your business actually supports.

Clear tracking gives you: confidence in your numbers, clarity on profitability, and control over tax obligations before deadlines arrive.
