Culture is built in the small moments leaders repeat every day, not in one big moment.

Teams mirror the environment leaders create. If the mirror looks messy, leaders should probably stop staring at the team and start wiping off the mirror.

Remember:
→ Clear leaders create clearer teams.
→ Accountable leaders create more accountability.
→ Calm leaders create more stability.

It starts with you. 🫵✨

Over 25 years of working with leaders taught me that the ones who grow the fastest are the ones willing to slow down and look at themselves honestly.

I talk a lot about alignment, leadership communication, and the way leadership influences teams. One of the ways that work comes to life most directly is through executive coaching.

Executive coaching has become some of the most fulfilling work I do. The leaders I work with are already doing amazing things, but there are always a few tweaks that make a real difference.

Leadership can get isolating fast. Sometimes the higher up you go, the harder honest feedback is to come by. That's where 1:1 coaching comes in.

It's about helping really good leaders get out of their own way and lead at the level they're actually capable of.

It's a space to:
➡️ Think out loud
➡️ Ask the questions you can't ask your team, board, or peers
➡️ Get honest feedback on where you excel and the places where there is room to grow
➡️ Strengthen how you communicate and make decisions

“Clear is kind” has become one of those leadership reminders I come back to over and over again.

So much frustration inside organizations comes from people trying to interpret what leadership actually means.

Expectations are implied instead of clarified. Decisions get communicated differently depending on who’s in the room. Teams start filling in the gaps themselves.

I think a lot of leaders avoid being fully clear because they don’t want to sound too direct, disappoint people, or create tension. But most teams are actually looking for clarity they can trust and move with.

→ Clear priorities
→ Clear communication
→ Clear ownership

Clear is kind because clarity helps people move forward together 💪

One of the reasons I’m so passionate about facilitating Working Genius sessions is because it creates conversations teams don’t usually make space for, but desperately need.

The kind of conversations that help people better understand themselves, understand each other, and finally put language around frustrations, communication breakdowns, or tension that’s been sitting under the surface for a long time.

Some of the best moments are watching a team suddenly “get” each other in a way they didn’t before. That kind of clarity changes so much! ✨

Yesterday I celebrated Cinco de Mayo 🇲🇽 at PCX Aerosystems and NuSpace Inc. over a salsa bar 🌶️. Many homemade choices to choose from. So good! Grateful to partner with these leaders!

Kudos to Jacquie Cadena, PHR and Adriana Olivares for their role in creating a great environment to work!

The BEST leaders are the ones being invested in. ⬇️

I’ve been working 1:1 with a lot of leaders lately. Not because something’s broken, but because they’re already doing well and their companies want to keep it that way.

Burnout and loss of momentum build when people are expected to keep pushing without real support. The companies that get ahead of that are the ones investing in their people early, before the problems hit.

People invest back at the level they feel invested in...that’s what makes the difference over time.

I love this work I get to do so much! 🎤 Here is a little peak at my day with SouthEastTN SHRM!

I get to show up, talk about the stuff that actually matters, and hang out with people who are all in on making their workplaces better. Chattanooga did not disappoint! So grateful for days like this one. 🙌

Had so much fun with this SouthEastTN SHRM group today in Chattanooga! Such an amazing group of HR leaders!

We got to dig into the topic of coaching your leaders to Own, Relate, and Elevate™ in the moments that matter most and having the difficult conversations leaders sometimes avoid.

HR has such a unique opportunity to help leaders here. You see the patterns before anyone else does. You know which conversations are getting skipped, which ones are landing sideways, and where leaders need a real coaching moment, to show up differently. That kind of influence is powerful.

A huge thank you to Matt Gregory for the invitation and for putting together this event.

Chattanooga, I'm coming for you! 🎉 I'm speaking at SHRM Chattanooga next week and I am so excited!

We'll dig into how HR can coach leaders to Own, Relate, and Elevate™ in the moments that matter most — so employees leave comp conversations with clarity.

If you're going to be there, please come find me. I'd love to connect!

Here's what separates the leaders people follow from the ones they just tolerate. ⬇️

Own. Before you can lead anyone else, you have to lead yourself first. Regulate what you radiate. Know your blind spots. Get honest about the environment you're creating.

Relate. Connection is the differentiator. Not performance reviews — real conversation. Listen without fixing. Have the hard talk not to confront, but to connect. Ambiguity breeds stories. Conversation dissolves them.

Elevate. Stop solving. Start developing. The best leaders build the people around them — shifting from controlling to coaching, from telling to asking. Ownership isn't assigned. It's modeled.

Which pillar do you need most right now?

This is exactly the kind of work I’m doing inside the Leadership Alignment Accelerator 🔥

Not surface-level fixes. Not one-off workshops.

It’s simple work, but it’s the stuff that changes everything when it clicks.
