Hardrocker Lumberjacks

Hardrocker Lumberjacks A Competitive Woodsman Team for students to compete in lumberjack events such as ax and saw races or to learn more about chainsaws, axes, forestry, etc.

We are a competitve woodsman team. Our goal is to send people to woodsmen competitions and eventually host our own competition. We will raise money by selling firewood and use the money to buy all of our safety and competition equipment. It is free to join the organization so everything will be paid for through fundraising, sponsorships, and donations. The club will focus on the competitive side o

f things but anyone is welcome to come hang out and learn more. For example, we may host a class on campus about chainsaw use. People can come and try out a chainsaw for the first time or they can come and take a refresher. Competitive events will include:

c. Pole Climb
d. Single Buck
e. Super Swede Saw
f. Water Boil

2. Doubles Events
a. Bolt Split
b. Vertical Chop
c. Underhand Chop

3. Team Events
a. Cross Cut
b. Swede Saw
c. Log Roll (decking)
d. Pulp toss

While we are raising money and buying equipment, we will try to have several in-house competitions. Don’t be worried about competition being too intense or competitive. These competitions are pretty laid back and our goal for the team is to have fun and learn.

Saturday afternoon we will be out splitting wood and doing things with chainsaws. Feel free to stop by 109 Kansas City St (Theta Tau house) to hang out with the lumberjack club and chop some wood, learn about chainsaws, enjoy a bonfire, and possibly some chainsaw races.
