We are a local veteran owned and operated security company looking for a Service Technician with prior experience preferred but will train the right candidate.

Requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Working knowledge of how a security system works

· Ability to provide on-site maintenance for residential and commercial burglar and fire systems

· Experience with Alarm panels

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Ability to troubleshoot technical problems

· Prepare for security or fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools

· Planning security or fire alarm installations by surveying and evaluating location, identifying alarm installation requirements, and laying-out equipment and wiring plan.

· Establishing security or fire alarm systems by installing equipment, running and pulling wiring, and programming and calibrating equipment while adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.

· Verifying security or fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals. Correctly identifying and correcting problems.

· Maintaining records by documenting installations.

· Maintaining customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions.

· Maintaining safe and secure work environment by following safe practices

· Keeping security information confidential by following all established privacy and information laws and company policies.
· Excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications:

· At least 1-year experience preferred

· Experience is a plus for installing and/or servicing intrusion, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems

· Climbing ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height

· Carry items up to 75 pounds

· Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours and weekend emergency calls

· A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Prior military service record a plus but not required

· Electrician Low Voltage Fire/Security Degree preferred but not required

· Knowledge in common computer software

Provided use of a company vehicle and expenses are paid for infrequent out of town travel. We are looking to fill this position very soon. Applicants will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment. Must pass security screening. Wage DOE.

Before turning your house key over to a professional house cleaner, make sure the person is honest and reputable by checking all references thoroughly. If the house cleaner is from a firm, call your local Better Business Bureau to check on the firm’s reputation.

In the same vein, you should ask for credentials from any sales-person who requests entry to your home. Ask that their ID be pushed under the door. Many professional burglars use this cover to check out homes. If you’re doubtful, check with the person’s office before letting him or her in.

If your house is right on a public street or alley, this tip is especially important! Keep the curtains or blinds down so prowlers who are scoping out places to hit won’t know if there’s anything worth getting inside. This does a couple of things:

1) It makes it hard to determine if there is anything worth stealing inside.

2) It makes it hard to determine if anyone is home. You don’t have to do this for all windows all the time, just make sure you always close and lock the windows when you leave the house.
