Things are moving fast at Hammocks On The Edisto in Jacksonboro!

From silt fence installation and land clearing to installing the parking lot entrance, cutting and fine-grading the new parking area, and backfilling an existing pond, Phase 1 of this two-phase project is making great progress.

We’re currently ahead of schedule and everything is running smoothly. Excited to see this project continue to take shape!

We are currently preparing a portion of our fleet for a new project scheduled to begin next month. As part of these upgrades, we have installed flotation tires on the front axles of our off-road haul trucks to improve mobility and maneuverability across soft and uneven terrain. This enhancement is intended to significantly reduce the risk of vehicles becoming immobilized in challenging ground conditions, while also improving operational efficiency and safety in the field.

For reference, the Caterpillar 730 articulated haul truck has an approximate operating weight of 73,180 lbs (33,195 kg), making proper tire flotation and ground pressure distribution critical when working in rough or unstable terrain.

We caught up with one of our earthwork crews this week out on Seabrook Island. After our storm drain team was on site last week replacing the existing drainage system, the project is now moving forward with earthwork and fine grading for the new townhomes. It’s a great example of how our crews work together, each phase building on the last, to keep progress moving efficiently and get the job done right. Team work makes the dream work. 💪 🤝 👷‍♂️

FLBC plays a key role in stabilizing ground and improving load-bearing capacity on job sites. Paired with dozers, which efficiently spread and grade material, it helps create a solid, level foundation for construction to begin. Simple materials, powerful machines, and smart technique make all the difference.

The motor grader might not get as much action on the job site, but when it shows up everything else suddenly looks a little rough around the edges.

The curb machine moves at turtle 🐢 speed but it gets the job done right 99.9% of the time.
