Please join us in congratulating Betty McGirt on her promotion to Caregiver Manager with Nova Leap Home Health in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Betty’s journey with our team began back when we were My Choice. Inspired by her Granny, she has been working in caregiving since she was 19 years old. After spending much of her career in skilled nursing, Betty wanted to find new ways to serve the senior community. When she discovered My Choice, she immediately connected with our mission and has been part of the team ever since.
In her new role, Betty is looking forward to learning, developing new skills, and continuing to grow professionally. One lesson that has shaped her career is the importance of listening without assumptions or judgment, communicating effectively, and responding rather than reacting. For Betty, one of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing the gratitude from the clients, caregivers, and families we serve. Her motivation comes from knowing that people are in need and having the passion to help, whether that means connecting someone with the right caregiver or providing care herself.
When asked to describe our company culture, Betty said it is professional, understanding, welcoming, and serves with integrity. We could not agree more. Outside of work, Betty enjoys spending time with family, relaxing with her cat and dog, swimming, and taking road trips to OU football games.
A fun fact about Betty: When she went into labor with her daughter, icy and impassable roads made the nearest hospital 30 miles away. Her family stopped at a local police station, where the police chief ended up delivering her daughter. It is certainly a birth story she will never forget.
