Another month of answering the call and serving our community with pride. Every response represents a commitment to protecting lives, property, and our neighbors when they need us most.

C-5 Fire Department spent Monday night traning on our new Engine that will be going into service soon. We spent the evening going over equipment location, pump operations and driving. We also went over operation of our refurbished Brush Truck. Both of these truck were made possible through grants provided by the Texas A & M Forestry service. C-5 has received over 400,000 dollars in grants. The grants have provided much needed equipment, personal protective gear, training aids and of course fire apparatus.

Units arrived and found driver trapped inside pickup. After a lengthy extrication the driver was flown to LSU in Shreveport with life threatening injuries, the passenger was transported by ambulance to St. Michaels with non-life threatening injuries.

The Hampton Rd. frontage Rd has just been converted to one way westbound traffic from Kings Highway to 2148.

This means if you are leaving a business on Hampton such as River Valley Tractor Co. - Texarkana, Payless Storage #2, PPG Paint, or MetalMax Roofing & Siding - Texarkana, TX you will have to turn right heading westbound and then take the new turnaround under I-30 at the old 2148 underpass. You can then travel eastbound back toward town.

C-5 Firefighters Lucas, Jennifer, Bella Cummings, Tanner Hartman, and John Gibbs recently completed their Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations (Haz-Mat Ops & Awareness) course. During a hands-on skills day, they had the opportunity to put everything they learned in class into action. This achievement marks an important first step as they continue working toward their Firefighter I & II certifications. Congratulations to these firefighters on their dedication and commitment to advancing their training and serving their community.
