This ceiling was my baby, milled, recycled, barn wood sourced somewhere out of Prey, MT. Out in Montana old condemned barns are “brown gold”. The Californians love that rustic elegance. —— We were contracted from a gentleman who I had met at one of the local watering holes. For the sanctity of this story and his reputation we will refer to him as “Chudley”. The antagonist seeming desperate after myself hearing of his woes to the tender. I offered my services, carpentry, to his lowly sounding outfit. —— Chudley’s cries were founded on a promise he had made to a larger outfit that he very quickly realized he had not the slightest chance of succeeding on his efforts alone. —— I myself and a close friend who I have nothing but the most admiration and pride for, had volunteered ourself to join his rag tag team of misfits to handle an overwhelming contract for a well known celebrity. —— “Bean” my companion and I took control very fast in regards to our teams tasks. ——- BUT mid-project there was intelligence that had been brought to our attention! —— our new found friend - the actual contractor had brought to our attention that we were being extorted! *Gasp* Our so called boss has been stealing from our paychecks taking more than 70% of our earnings as what he called a “finders fee” *Gasp again*
We were making a solemn wage 9 hours from our homes WORKING 6am to 9pm on a 6 day schedule weekly. Sleeping on the property, whilst the project managers thought we were being compensated properly for such ridiculous hours.
