This weekend, I hosted a FREE skills workshop for our doulas, and it was such a joy to see these women eager to learn, practice, grow, and expand the ways they can support families in our community.

Being a doula is about more than showing up. It’s about continually learning, building confidence, refining our skills, and being willing to grow so the families we serve receive the best support we can offer.

Dad’s job in the birth room isn’t to stand in the corner and hope for the best. 😂

It’s to know how to support her when she’s tired, uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or wondering if she can do one more contraction.

Sometimes that looks like this.

A lunge.
A steady hand.
A little counterpressure.
A whole lot of “I’ve got you.”

Birth is something you do together.

And yes… we teach dads what to actually do in our childbirth classes. 😉

I ran a 5K today for breast cancer awareness. 💗

And as someone who cares deeply about breasts AND breastfeeding, I wanted to share something you may not know:

Did you know breastfeeding is associated with a lower risk of breast and ovarian cancer?

Breastfeeding can benefit baby AND Mom in so many ways. And while it doesn’t guarantee protection from cancer, it’s one of the many beautiful benefits worth knowing about. 🤍

I care about breasts.
I care about breastfeeding.
And I care about making sure moms have the support they need.
