As leaders, we often find that being the go-to person becomes a core part of our identity.

However, scaling a company healthily requires us to check our egos. At certain growth stages, it's crucial to empower others and delegate that 'expert' status. True leadership growth involves building a team that can thrive independently, ensuring the company's success isn't solely dependent on one individual.

This transition is key to sustainable growth and fostering a robust organizational structure.

What's the one sign that a company is too founder-dependent?
It's not what most people think.
And if it's showing up in your business, it's probably limiting growth more than you realize.

In this video, I reveal the one sign that instantly tells me a company is too founder-dependent.

Take the Founder Dependency Quiz in the bio to measure your risk score and discover the next steps to build a business that can thrive without you.

Many clinical managers were top individual contributors before stepping into leadership. The problem? What made you great on your own- doing it all yourself - doesn’t translate when you’re leading a team.

Delegation isn’t optional. Without it, managers burn out, get frustrated, and too often, walk away from the field.

The truth: leadership is a different skill set. You don’t magically “pick it up” on the job. You need support, new tools, and someone to help you grow into the role.

That’s where I come in. I help clinical managers build the skills to lead with confidence, avoid burnout, and keep their teams- and themselves - thriving.

👉 If you’re in that transition (or have managers who are), it’s time to invest in leadership, not just technical skills.

𝟵𝟵% 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 #𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁...

• 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Wrong message received
• 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Not enough information shared
• 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Too much noise, key points lost
• 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Right message, wrong moment

And the best way to avoid problems? 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

This is the "secret sauce" for how I survived years managing teams while covering surgery:

1. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
2. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀
3. 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀
4. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱

#𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (what you communicate with others - be specific):
• I expect not to be messaged after 6pm or on weekends unless it is urgent.

#𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 (how you respond):
• If I receive a non-urgent text after 6pm, I will not respond.

#𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 (Action and consequence you share with others):
• If you continue to text non-urgent messages after hours, you will be written up, or worse.

#𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 (what you allow):
• If someone doesn't live up to my expectations, pushes my boundaries, and breaks my rules - They do not meet the standard for this team and will no longer be a part of it.

Harsh? 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦...
Clear? 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆.

If others still violate those expectations or rules... your boundaries are how you respond, and your standards are what you allow.

Expectations or rules without holding your boundaries and standards 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀, and true leaders are more than just 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸.

🎙️ 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱: My interview on The Medical Sales Podcast with Samuel Adeyinka

We talked about what it REALLY takes to 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 today, especially when you're supporting clinical teams who are stretched thin, constantly on call, and navigating high-stakes decisions every day.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝟭𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼:

• Leadership isn't about having all the answers 🧠
• It's about 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 when the case goes sideways 🏥
• It's 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 your reps through their first angry surgeon instead of taking over 💪
• And remembering that behind every case is a 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 ❤️

I shared my story, from a neuromonitoring tech to CEO, to sales rep, and why I am all in on coaching other leaders today.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵? Most of us get promoted because we're good at the clinical or sales stuff. Nobody teaches you how to lead people who are dealing with 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 every day.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱:
• Titles don't make great leaders ❌
• 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 does ✅
• 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 does ✅
• 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 does ✅

If you're leading a clinical team that's starting to burn out, managing reps who freeze under pressure, or wondering how to build real trust in high-stakes environments - 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 🎯
