2.2 million people watched Sam Altman's TED interview with Chris Anderson.
At the very end, Sam walked off stage before the handshake. Chris had to call him back.

That one moment made me pause the video. And then watch the entire interview again.

In this breakdown I analyze Sam Altman across two interviews, TED and Y Combinator, to build a full nonverbal portrait of the man building artificial general intelligence.

Why his contained posture is not insecurity. What the palms-together gesture before the hardest question actually signals. The difference between arrogance and impatience in one facial expression. And what the exit reveals about how an analytical mind operates when it believes the performance is over.

The people building the next era of technology are not going to pause for the handshake. They are already thinking about the next problem. Will Sam Altman exit OpenAI the same way?

Most people watched this interview and saw a graceful leadership transition.

I watched it and saw something completely different.

In less than 5 minutes of footage, Anna Wintour's posture, eye contact, and one very deliberate head movement reveal the real power structure between her and her successor Chloe Malle.

This is not a succession. It is a redistribution.

I break down 5 specific moments, including the one where Anna's head says no while her words say yes.

Full breakdown in the video above. Drop your thoughts below - did you catch any of these signals before watching?

Recently, I was invited to contribute to a TIME article on the psychology behind the phrase “you should smile more.” The comment is rarely about smiling. It is often a subtle signal about power, comfort, and authority in professional spaces. I shared perspective on how these moments function as nonverbal interventions and how we can respond without surrendering credibility. Grateful to be included in this broader conversation alongside respected academic voices.

Plus, when saying nothing is enough.

“When verbal and nonverbal don’t match, people believe nonverbal.”

This was a core theme in my conversation on the Shedding the Corporate Bitch Podcast with Bernadette Boas.

Thank you, Bernadette, for such a thoughtful and well-facilitated discussion on leadership credibility and executive presence.

One of the things we explored is why trying to “fix” yourself or copy confident leaders often backfires. Presence works when your nonverbal signals align with who you already are and not when they are performed.

If you lead teams or operate in high-stakes environments, this conversation will resonate.

According to our guest, Tatiana Teppoeva, Ph.D., “If we neglect this piece, then we’re missing a lot.”

Leaders who focus solely on verbal communication leave massive influence potential on the table.

Nonverbal awareness isn’t optional—it’s a core leadership competency. When you ignore this element, you reduce clarity, authority, and connection.

Leaders spend hours preparing talking points while giving little thought to nonverbal delivery. Tatiana Teppoeva of One Nonverbal Ecosystem challenges leaders to elevate the other half of communication. When your body language contradicts your words, your message loses power.

Start strengthening the “silent” side of your communication—catch the full episode now.

AI is already watching your job interview.

Not just what you say but how you say it.

Your tone, your gaze, your micro-expressions.

A new 2025 study called “Listening to the Unspoken” shows that algorithms now score candidates on confidence, calmness, and emotional congruence across five dimensions like integrity and employability.

In other words, at least half of your performance depends on how you deliver your message, not just the words.

Here’s what AI still can’t understand:
🤔 Intent
🤔 Authenticity
🤔 Real emotional nuance

That’s where the Human Signal Layer comes in such as your tone, energy, and presence that no machine can truly decode.

I help professionals master those signals before they decide your future.

Curious how to strengthen your nonverbal bandwidth before your next high-stakes call or interview?

I Spoke to 300+ Future Leaders. They’ll Land Their Jobs Because They Know What Really Matters.

After interviewing over 100 people and being on both sides myself, I can tell you this:
Oftentimes it’s not your knowledge holding you back, it’s your nonverbal presence sabotaging it.

👉 If you know your subject but still struggle to land the job, the client, or the deal, feel free to reach out.

On Monday, I had the honor of speaking to more than 300 DECA students and educators about a topic "Look Like a Pro, Speak Like a Leader" on nonverbal communication. The room was full.

What impressed me most wasn’t the size of the audience, it was how deeply these students understood the message.

After the session, many stayed behind, asking smart, thoughtful questions about how posture, tone, and eye contact influence trust, some asked about their own challenges such as fear of public speaking or negative feedback they receive from others that does not connect to what they think they were projecting.

Some wanted to take pictures with me. Others just wanted to say thank you.

These are future leaders who already recognize something many professionals overlook:

50-70% of our impression comes from nonverbal signals and if we send wrong signals we will be perceived that "wrong" way.

👉 If you’re perceived wrong, it doesn’t matter how much you know.

Seeing that awareness at such a young age was powerful. I wish I could learn everything I telling them at their age.

Good news is that confidence can be learned. Presence can be trained.

And these students are already ahead of the curve.

Grateful to DECA Inc. for the opportunity to speak and to every student who came up after — you reminded me why I do this work.

A few years ago, I was skeptical when I first heard about NeuroGraphics.

I have a PhD, a Master’s in Data Science, and a background in AI research. So when someone said “drawing can rewire your brain,” my first thought was… really?

But curiosity won. I started researching, testing, and soon after teaching it.

The science behind it is fascinating: our nervous system responds to shape, movement, and reflection. When we round edges, balance composition, and observe our emotional reactions, we literally guide the brain from tension to calm focus.

This is not doodling — it’s neuroaesthetics, biofeedback, and mindfulness combined.

In my new video, I share 10 scientific reasons why NeuroGraphics helps you release stress and reconnect with clarity.

I recently saw someone with 2.5 million followers post:
“Only 7% of interview success depends on what you say… 93% is nonverbal.”

That post exploded with thousands of likes and comments.

But here’s the truth: that famous “7–38–55 rule” was about emotional expression, not job interviews.

Still, nonverbal communication does make or break how others perceive you — in interviews, meetings, and even online calls.

Nonverbal intelligence isn’t about fake confidence.
It’s about projecting calm authority and emotional congruence, the kind of presence that builds trust instantly.

🎥 I broke down the real science behind this “rule” (and what it actually means) here:

* Executive Presence Code™: commanding a room without words
* Which signals translate globally (and which can break trust abroad)

Huge thanks to Ademola Isimeme Odewade, BSc. (Economics), ACA, MBA for the warm welcome and thought-provoking questions.

Why This “Price Raise” Message Feels Like a Breakup?

This stock image was meant to support a post about increasing prices.

But if you remove the chart in the background and imagine a door there instead?

👉 She’s not pointing to data. She’s pointing him out of the room.
👉 Her face and gesture says: “You messed up. Now go.”
👉 His posture says: “I know.”

The messaging says: “3 Signs It's Time to Raise Your Prices.”
The image says: “Get out.”
It’s a visual mismatch and a trust killer.

In nonverbal communication, alignment is everything. Marketers layer positive messaging over emotionally mismatched visuals and then wonder why it doesn’t convert.

People may not consciously notice the disconnect but they will feel it.

âś” Before you post, ask: Does the image amplify the message or quietly contradict it?

So let me ask:
✨ What do you read from this image?
✨ What’s one visual mistake you've seen a brand make that instantly changed your perception?
