I'm about to save you from making any
mistakes when buying your first home.
Here's what you need to avoid:
Having a low credit score: Get your credit score up before buying a home so your monthly payments are lower.
Not getting pre-approved first: in a seller's market, this is a MUST! Homes are selling quick, and you will need a pre-approval letter to submit an offer.
Forgetting about closing costs: Ah yes, closing costs will creep up on you but make sure you have enough saved to cover them!
Not asking for a home inspection: Home inspections can save you time on a home that isn't worth it to you. Leave it to the professionals to find any problems with the house.
Using up all your savings: Have an extra cushion and save more than you need to buy a home in case of emergencies!
Not considering the resale value: You'll want to ask your agent if the home you are buying will be easy to sell in the future. Take into consideration the location, price, age, and
condition!
Not figuring out renovation costs prior: The last thing you want to do is buy a fixer-upper and not have enough money to cover the costs. You will be living in your worst nightmare!
