I have a unique opportunity at my new job for potential grant funding. This would be a potential collaboration opportunity between myself, The Wicky Garden, and a nonprofit entity. I wonder if there is any interest out there? The grant is relatively short and sweet and I would like to give it a shot. Contact me if a Wicky Garden is something you would be interested in having. Ideally, your nonprofit would be located in southern Wisconsin, but if you are interested and elsewhere, let's chat.

I feel like this time of year is hard for pictures. The gardens are getting pretty crowded and sometimes the tomatoes don't show off in the photos for an inexperienced photographer such as myself. Of course, it helps if you remember to snap the photo before you harvest. Anyway, this is an update for 8/23/25. Thanks!

Today 7/27/25 update, filled with water and added some fertilizer. Both of these gardens are doing spectacularly. Free food!
Please make a special note that many people have said that they don't like the 5gal bucket containers. The far garden has buckets and they are basically hidden.

July 4th weekend growth! We have had quite a bit of rain in Wi this spring/summer. This weekend I topped off some of the water in these gardens and I fully expect the gardens to be self-sustaining for the rest of July. I have a number of units that I am offering at cost to non-profits and schools if you know of any interest out there. Thanks for following The Wicky Garden journey!

June 21st update for Rock Springs public garden. This garden did have the start of some weeds so I had to spend 3 minutes weeding. 2-3 weeks since last watering/touch. With rain, it is still full and good for at least another 2+weeks estimated... Cheers to growing food in a park! Thank you Rock Springs for allowing this to happen!

-I filled the house plants up and we can exchange plants at this garden which I think is pretty neat!

June 21st. Filled tank once and it's growing strong! Any suggestions for planting in my hay bales late in the year?

Water features are an important asset to consider in your garden. They provide an opportunity for birds and animals to get a drink, but also improve nearby birding habitat.
Furthermore, Birds are valuable because they can help control insect pest populations in your garden.

Bird scaping with native plants is next level gardening as well.

Comment and share your a picture of your water feature.
