A little to February 2019 ✨
One of the memorable collections to come through Stuart Kingston was the estate of Katharine and John Hart, whose careers at the CIA spanned its earliest days through the Cold War. Their February 9, 2019 auction featured English furniture, Persian illuminated manuscripts dating to the 1400s, fine jewelry, and remarkable Russian silver—including a Fabergé silver and crystal bowl identified by our president, Mauria Stein, and a 19th-century ewer formerly owned by the Russian Imperial family. Extraordinary pieces, fascinating histories, and the privilege of helping each find its next chapter. That’s what makes auction day so special.
February is typically our strongest sale of the year, and we anticipate another great auction in February 2027. We’ll begin accepting items for consignment after Thanksgiving—keep us in mind when you’re ready to part with something special. ✨

A little piece of Delaware art history. 🩵

This original work by Howard Schroeder (1910–1995) captures the coastal character that made his work so beloved throughout Southern Delaware. Originally from New York, Schroeder was stationed at Fort Miles in Lewes during WWII, fell in love with the area, and made Delaware his home. He became known for his expressive paintings of Lewes, local fishing villages, boats, marshes, and the changing Delaware coastline, while also teaching generations of artists throughout Delmarva. He and his wife later operated The Art Age in Rehoboth Beach and were influential in the local arts community.

This beautiful Schroeder is currently available for sale at Stuart Kingston Gallery.
