Win Wall Friday.
This week's lens: what is the question your business has been waiting for you to have the time to hold, and have you started holding it yet?
Not what you produced. Not what the team did without you. What you finally had the time to sit with, the question that has been present for months or years, waiting for a Thursday morning that did not exist until the structural work created it.
Auden goes first.
Auto repair client. Month seven. Thursday morning three.
The owner opened the page from the previous two sessions. Read through the five observations he had written. And noticed that one had become more important than the others, not because anything had changed in the business, but because he had been sitting with the question long enough to see which part of it the business most needed him to answer.
The observation was about his ops lead's commercial capacity. Whether the ops lead could open and develop a new account relationship without the owner present at any stage. That observation had been there from the first session. On the third Thursday morning it had become the question.
He did not write a plan. He did not make a decision. He wrote underneath it: "This is what the business has been asking me to think about." Then he closed the page and went back to work.
The fleet account question was the first version. The commercial development question was what the business had been waiting for him to hold. Three Thursday mornings to find it. The finding is the win.
Your turn. What is the question your business has been waiting for you to hold, and have you started holding it yet?
Name it below. One sentence is enough. I read and reply to every comment.
