A cozy soup can start with a few things you already have. šŸ²

Choose a base, a protein, vegetables, a grain or starch, seasoning, and toppings. The images give you options for each building block.

Try vegetable broth with cooked white beans, carrots, spinach, and cooked rice. Season with Italian herbs, then finish with lemon and parsley.

Simmer firmer vegetables until tender, add greens near the end, and stir in cooked beans and grains until everything is heated through. Add more broth if needed.

What if this holiday season, food felt a little less like a test? šŸ‚
You can make room for enjoyment while caring for your nourishment and individual dietary needs.
Four gentle shifts to keep in mind:
1. Flexibility around food choices.
2. Kindness when guilt shows up.
3. Regular meals and everyday care after celebrations.
4. Satisfying meals and variety over time.

Food can hold tradition, comfort, and connection. Your preferences, allergies, and medical needs matter, too.

Our Plant-Powered Living digital guide includes plant-forward shopping ideas and recipes.

Sometimes the hard part is finding the words. šŸ‚

These holiday boundary phrases offer starting points for declining invitations, ending uncomfortable conversations, keeping topics private, leaving early, and deciding how much to explain.

You can change the wording to fit your relationship and circumstances. If a direct response could put you at risk, prioritize safety and support.

Our Choosing Peace digital guide offers further reflections on navigating the holidays while estranged from family.

Guide on Etsy:

Which type of boundary is hardest to put into words: invitations, conversations, private topics, leaving early, or explaining decisions?

A category is enough. šŸ¤

A holiday invitation can arrive before you’ve had a chance to decide what you want from the season. šŸ‚

A little reflection now can help you put your preferences into words:

What matters to you this year?
What can you realistically give?
Which limits do you want to communicate?
What will you say if those limits are pushed?
What other plans might feel supportive?

A shorter visit, a quiet day, time with chosen family, or a new tradition are possibilities you can consider.

For anyone navigating the holidays while estranged from family, our Choosing Peace digital guide explores holiday grief, guilt, coping tools, and rebuilding meaning in your own way.

Fall can bring comfort, familiar traditions, and feelings that are harder to name. šŸ‚

You might be ready to make a change and also need a break.
You might miss someone and still need distance.
You might enjoy the holidays and feel uneasy about certain gatherings or expectations.

You don’t have to explain away one feeling to make the other valid.

And a difficult day doesn’t erase the care you’ve been giving yourself.

Two things can be true. There’s room for both.

Share this with someone who could use that reminder. šŸ¤

🄣 Beans, rice and frozen vegetables
šŸ Pasta, canned tomatoes and frozen greens
šŸ„” Potatoes, chickpeas and frozen vegetables

If rest came with a menu, which section would you choose today?

A — Five-minute rest
B — Mental rest
C — Physical rest
D — Creative rest
E — Connection

There’s no expectation to work through the entire menu. One small choice may be enough for today—and unfinished responsibilities do not make your need for rest less valid.

Save this graphic for an overwhelmed day, or share it with someone who could use a few gentle options.

The gut-health aisle can make it seem as though the next powder, capsule or specialty product is where everyone needs to begin.
For many people, a more useful first step may be slowing down and looking at the everyday picture: What meals are you already eating? Are you changing several things at once? Which foods feel familiar? Are you building a routine you could realistically continue?
This isn’t an anti-supplement message, and it isn’t a promise that food or routines will solve every digestive concern. It’s simply permission to gather context before adding another variable.
Start by observing your pattern, exploring food variety gradually and building meals that work for your actual life.
Which starting point feels most useful to you: noticing patterns, introducing variety gradually or creating more repeatable meals?

Does anyone else ever have plenty of food in the kitchen—but still no clear idea what to make?

A simple meal formula can make that moment easier. Start with a grain or potato, add a plant protein, choose one or two seasonal ingredients, then finish with greens, crunch and a sauce you already enjoy.

For example: quinoa, chickpeas, roasted squash, kale, apple, pumpkin seeds and tahini.

But that combination isn’t a rule. Brown rice could replace quinoa. Lentils could replace chickpeas. Spinach could replace kale. The most useful meal is the one that works with your preferences and what you already have.

Save the carousel for a busy evening. What would you choose for your base and protein?

Some journal prompts invite an immediate answer. Others make you pause because they touch something you haven’t fully named yet.

These seven questions move beyond the usual seasonal gratitude list:

What feels heavier than it needs to?

What could be simplified?

How have you changed since last fall?

Where do you want more peace?

What are you still trying to prove?

What no longer fits who you’re becoming?

What deserves protection or nurturing this season?

You don’t have to work through every question, find a profound answer or turn reflection into another task. Choose the one that feels useful today.

Which prompt made you pause—the first, second, third or another one?

Save the carousel for later. If guided journaling feels supportive, the Healthy Karma Guided Healing Journal is available on Etsy.
