Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice made possible the freedoms and opportunities we often take for granted, including the ability to build businesses, support our families, and serve our communities.

In observance of Memorial Day, Reno Type will be closed on Monday so our team can spend time with family, reflect, and honor those who served.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.

Tonight a group of us got together to celebrate Erwin, who wrapped up his last week with Reno Type after five years running our presses.

He’s been an incredible teammate, steady under pressure, deeply skilled, and a huge part of what happens here every day. The kind of person you quietly start depending on so much that you can’t really imagine the place without them.

He’s heading into an exciting new chapter… helping with his family’s HVAC business and preparing for the arrival of his first child in just a couple of weeks.

We’re going to miss him a lot.

Grateful for everything he gave this team, and wishing him and his growing family nothing but success.

Our 2026 Holiday closure schedule for those who like to plan ahead!

For the fifth year, our holiday celebration doubled as a way to share profits with organizations serving Northern Nevada.

Each Reno Type employee received $1,000 to direct among four local nonprofits. With 25 employees this year, that resulted in $25,000 in community support:

▪️ Reno Cancer Foundation — $4,300
▪️ Northern Nevada HOPES — $5,000
▪️ Food Bank of Northern Nevada — $8,000
▪️ Options Veterinary Care — $7,700

As our team grows, this tradition grows with it. We’re grateful for the work these organizations do every day and for the chance to support them in a way that reflects our values.

Celebrating Nevada Day — and a Printer Named Twain

Reno Type will be closed Friday, October 31, in observance of Nevada Day, celebrating the day our state joined the Union in 1864. We’ll be back in the office Monday, November 3.

Before Mark Twain became America’s most celebrated humorist, he was a printer right here in Nevada. He set type, inked presses, and wrangled words long before he made a fortune doing it on paper instead of with it. Twain left the territory just before Nevada became a state—which might say something about Twain, about Nevada, or maybe about printers.

Either way, we’re proud to keep ink on paper in the Silver State.
