The Innevation Center is designed to empower Nevada’s next generation of economic leaders by igniting the creative and entrepreneurial spirits in University of Nevada, Reno students, faculty, community creatives, makers, economic developers, and emerging global tech companies. The sixth annual Makerthon has officially begun!

This year we have six teams competing for a cash prize of $2000 by designing, creating and pitching a unique product in response to an all-new prompt in just 48 hours.

The 2026 prompt: Design a physical product that helps individuals or communities stay safer and more comfortable during extreme heat. Your solution could address personal cooling, outdoor infrastructure, public spaces, transportation, or heat mitigation.
