We are seeking a local, experienced Purchasing Manager to support initiatives that drive results measured by lower inventory and materials costs, increased supplier performance, process and service improvements. Additionally, this position interacts with each department to ensure the goals of the organization are met. This role is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, reviewing system generated material requirements and then procuring or delegating the procurement of material. The Purchasing Manager oversees the purchasing team in their daily activities and, works in conjunction with Production by managing the timing of materials to regulate inventory delivery, flow & cost, and develops and implements control measures to prevent material shortages.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Responsible for creating or overseeing the creation and maintenance of departmental SOPs
• Verify and approve all PO accuracy which includes, part number, cost account, taxes, terms, etc.
• Manage all correspondence related to quality issues with suppliers while working with our Quality Department for direction.
• Be familiar with ISO, WQA & OSHA Requirements
• Monitor and take appropriate action on Engineering Change Orders when necessary.
• Work directly with Engineering on all action items related to Purchasing
• Determine sources of supply, competitive quotations, dependability of supplier, and negotiate supply agreements.
• Look for purchasing efficiencies and cost savings opportunities
• Review MRP requirements, approve PO’s, and verify accuracy
• Drive second sourcing efforts while maintaining compliance with 3rd party laboratories for wetted parts
• Manage and review the inventory value and accuracy in all warehouses with the Director of Operations
• Manage, track, and report all cost changes from suppliers
• Manage and update Costed BOM’s (CBOM’s)
• Validate and approve all international import paperwork from suppliers, including tariff accuracy
• Report all expedited freight efforts to Director of Operations
• Manage and plan to avoid trapped inventory
• Perform other related duties as assigned and assist other departments as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors’ degree, plus 2-3 years of experience in purchasing functions, international supply chain, and management of individuals preferred, or more than 5-7 years of directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Working in an office environment
• Sitting for extended periods of time operating computer equipment and other office equipment
• Occasional time spent in the warehouse where environmental conditions range from 50-90 degree temperatures
