Good Afternoon Parents and Families,

This is an important message from your Principal, Ms. McWilliams . As many of you have most likely heard by now, there was a case of Covid reported by a school employee this week. The employee had minimal contact with staff and was not present when most staff returned to the building from Summer Break.

The employee didn’t report for work when feeling symptomatic and followed the district’s self-screening protocol which helped to identify symptoms and mitigate exposure to other employees. Within thirty minutes of being notified of the diagnosis, the district dispatched a seven-person crew to thoroughly disinfect the entire campus, focusing especially on all shared areas and classrooms. This process took the majority of one day.

I want to assure you that every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of staff at Hunter Lake ES as we prepare for students to arrive August 17th. Our dedicated staff is enthusiastically working together to prepare engaging and wonderful content to share with your students upon their arrival.
