FREE ABC LAW TRAINING
The Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association (ESTRA) is pleased to announce that they are teaming up with and Tech Valley Security, Southern Wine & Spirits and the Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau to offer the invaluable and sought after training titled “The ABC’s of the Alcoholic Beverages Control Law”. The training, developed with the assistance of the State Liquor Authority, provides owners and managers of licensed premises with the tools and information they need to comply with the Alcoholic Beverage Control law.

It is well accepted that compliance with the law is the best way to protect the public, our communities and our businesses. This program will give you, as an owner or manager, an understanding of your duties and responsibilities under the law. But this training is more than a mere listing of the laws you must follow. In addition to explaining the State Liquor Authority’s expectations of licensees, the program provides detailed guidance on the steps that you can take to ensure you operate in compliance with the law.

This comprehensive training, not offered before in Saratoga, will be delivered by Bob Benedetto (NY State Liquor Authority - Retired) ,Scott Wexler, Executive Director of the Empire State Restaurant & Tavern Association and Shawn May Esq. of Linnan and Fallon, an attorney with extensive experience in SLA related cases. It will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2015 between the hours of 9:30 AM and 12:45 PM at the Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs, 232 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, New York. Parking will be available on site. Refreshments will be provided.

Thanks to the generous support of Southern Wine & Spirits and The Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau, this training will be provided free of charge, but seating is limited so we must limit the number of attendees to two management level representatives per business.

You must pre-register for the ABC Law training by contacting Tech Valley Security at 518-720-3709 or at [email protected]. Only those who pre-register will be permitted to attend the training session.

Mark your calendars: We will be offering the Alcohol Training Awareness Training Program (ATAP) geared towards servers and staff on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and again on Tuesday, June 23rd from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Holiday Inn Saratoga Springs. ATAP training focuses on prevention of alcohol sales to minors and intoxicated parties .It can be used as part of a defense to an SLA violation, to reduce a penalty imposed by the Liquor Authority and may reduce your liability insurance rates. The cost of that training is $35.00 per attendee. Class size is limited to 35 so contact us early to reserve your spot(s). Reservations are required. Contact Tech Valley Security at 518-720-3709 or at [email protected]. If we exceed the number of 35 registrants per class, additional sessions may be scheduled.
